Varnabas Museum Hotel

My stay at Varnabas Museum Hotel was exceptional! The traditional welcome, by the staff instantly made us feel special and safe. The hotel is close to the trendy Thamel district and airport. The airport pick-up and drop-off service was seamless. We enjoyed the on-site restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Highly recommend this luxurious gem in Kathmandu.

Everything about my 2 night stay for work was calm, clean and stylish. Stephane and his efficient and charming team run an organised ship. From a super comfy bed, high quality linen, design and furniture to a clean roof top pool, sauna and steam the amenities are perfect. Notably, delicious breakfast served in three courses that included fresh fruit, home made bread, strawberry jam and marmalade - and choice of eggs of various style, porridge with compote, french toast to mention a few. I’m feeling how great it was after checking in to my new stay which is not quite the same.

What a very pleasant stay at Varnabas Museum Hotel!!. Excelent service, great rooms and unforgettable food, the staff was incredible nice and kind!!, worried for every detail . Very special the way that we were welcome . The pool in the top of the hotel was very nice and confortable. Congratulations for such a beautiful hotel!. We will never forget our stay and if we come back to Kathmandu we will go directly to the Varbanas! :)

A huge shoutout to Abhisek, who made our stay at Varnabas truly unforgettable! Without us even asking, he took it upon himself to give us an incredible city tour—completely on his own time and without expecting anything in return. He spent over four hours showing us both hidden local gems and popular tourist spots, sharing insights and stories along the way. His kindness and passion for his city made the experience so special. From the moment we arrived at Varnabas, we were welcomed with warm hospitality, a refreshing ABC drink (apple, beets, carrots), and a lovely welcome ceremony. The food at the restaurant was outstanding, and the manager and owner personally greeted us, making us feel right at home. Our room was beautiful, and every detail of our stay was thoughtfully taken care of. Highly recommend Varnabas for an unforgettable experience in Nepal! Stay here!

What a beautiful, very special hotel in the heart of Kathmandu! The exterior is very visually striking with the roofline representing 3 major peaks of Nepal including Everest. Inside it's beautifully stylish and welcoming and really celebrates the rich and vibrant culture and heritage of Nepal. The rooms are spacious and beautiful with the most comfortable beds and pillows ever and even the baths come with a great view! There are lots of wonderful, subtle but meaningful design touches in the all suite rooms with the floors and rooms designed to represent and showcase the rich culture of Nepal's lowlands, middle hills areas and high mountains. On the 8th floor the Kharka La restaurant is beautiful, with great views over the city and wonderful locally sourced organic food and a window into the kitchen where you can watch the chefs work. On the 9th floor there's a great rooftop pool and overlooking it the stylish South Col bar. I loved the signature cocktails! The location is perfect, easy to get to all the key sites. The team are very charming with great service. If you're looking for somewhere authentic to Nepalese culture, that offers luxury, style and charm it's the perfect choice. Varnabas Museum Hotel is a wonderful relaxing haven in the heart of the city. I highly recommend staying here and making it your base when you visit Kathmandu.
