The Palmwood

We LOVED this place! This was our first stop in Kauai and we didn’t want to leave. We needed the peace and quiet as a transition from city living to the island. It was so peaceful, the grounds were beautiful with amazing views, and the breakfast was amazing, thank you Michael! They accommodated my gluten allergy, gave us great suggestions about places to explore and great places to eat. Great base for exploring the northern part of the island.

I couldn't say enough good things about The Palmwood. Our host, Michael, was great! He helped us with suggestions on things to do for the day as well as made amazing breakfasts with local tropical fruit. There was an issue with one of the neighbors busting the water line to the house and the staff made sure to get it fixed quickly with a lot of updates along the way. The pool is surrounded by beautiful views with the valley on the right and trees full of honey creepers on the left. It was so serene and a great place to just relax. We stayed in the West room and it was perfect! Nice large bathroom and the room had plenty of room and a seating area, though we spent most our time relaxing on the lanai. The waterfall feature was beautiful, though we did get some cane toads that made a lot of noise at night. Michael noticed the first night and then relocated them to another water feature on the property so that they wouldn't disturb us while we tried to sleep. There is a ton of wild life around the property including a very sweet rooster named Burnt Marshmallow and some adorable elusive cats. It's a beautiful home with amazing surroundings and a great host! We would definitely recommend staying here.

Luxury accommodations on a private estate located in the green hills of the north shore of Kauai. Sit outside and enjoy the view as you dig into your gourmet, healthy breakfast. Take a dip in the pool overlooking the canyon. Take a short walk to the beach, or a short drive to the nearby town of Kilauea, where excellent restaurants and other resources abound. The Palmwood is a fantastic base from which to explore Hanalei and the north shore of Kauai.

It's hard to describe it as anything other than amazing. It's a beautiful house turned into a b'n'b. We stayed in the bungalow which is just off the house. It's off a very quiet road and it was an amazing place to stay. The accommodations were perfect but for us, the highlight was the daily breakfast we had served to us on our lanai. We spent two weeks in Kauai, including 4 days at one of the island's fancier resorts and these breakfasts were be far the best meals we had throughout our entire stay. Ina was so incredibly kind and thoughtful (she made us breakfast sandwiches when we did an early morning boat ride) and was such a great resource for places to go and see.

Amazing stay at The Palmwood! It was recommended to us by some friends who had stayed here for their honeymoon, so we immediately booked it for ours. The grounds are otherworldly and as beautiful as the picture make it seem. Chef Ina's breakfast everyday was a highlight of our trip. The Palmwood makes it hard to want to leave the B&B and explore Kauai, but Ina did provide a lot of tips of where to go and what places to visit. We stayed in the West Room which is the most secluded of the three, it has its' own hot tub, outdoor shower, pond and waterfall. The room itself was on the smaller side which was a slight challenge but did not take away from the trip at all. The bathroom sink is very large and there is not much room for your toiletries which we found a little odd, also no bathrobes. Mattress, pillows, and sheets were very comfy. Pool/beach towels are provided and changed as requested. We used a beach umbrella that Ina lent us for our afternoon at the beach, and i believe they have other beach needs as well. Already planning a trip back and hoping to bring some friends and family with us next time.
