Just to get one thing clear. I love the Greeks. I love the Greek islands. But our recent experience of Ekati Mare resort in Corfu sadly let's down the usually excellent experiences we have had in the past whilst holidaying in Greece. We arrived at 01:30hrs at the resort only to be shown to a annexed area away from the main hotel. Our room was basic, but acceptable, and then our son (22 yrs of age) points out the aircon was not working. We alerted staff member at the desk who did come immediately and tried the aircon- No. Not working. Batteries changed, still not working! I emphasised that aircon was pretty much needed, and if they could not fix the problem, a change of room may be needed. Staff said they will check it out in the morning. No aircon until the middle of the week when it was eventually fixed after countless reminders to staff that they needed to address it! Any suggestion of a room change was conveniently ignored by all staff we spoke to to the point someone admitted that they had no other rooms available. It was clear to us very quickly that despite polite staff the resort was badly managed. Either issues were ignored or the communication was very bad. Talking to other guests at the resort it appears the main consensus was disappointment. The aircon issue was quite common. Then there is the matter of the bar service. Very slow and inexperienced staff placed behind the bar. The alcohol was fairly pricey and not of a great quality. The pump for a nice pint was often not working, and when it did it was warm and low-grade. Just to add, they did not serve Mythos, my one favourite beer not just in Greece but the world in my opinion. Small bottles of blue/red or green Corfu beer was all that was really available. The staff always tried to serve drinks with a smile to their credit. The pool was nice, but sunbeds were limited. My wife noticed that she was being bitten especially when in our room. When it got to a point when my wife could not bear it any longer, she emotionally expressed that there must of been a problem with the bed. We believe it was flea ridden, so most nights felt a little bit uncomfortable. To get anything done my wife demanded they deep clean the room. This they did after be had to become a bit more assertive (we hate complaining, so we are not serial complainers!) they cleaned the room to a good standard but it certainly was not deep cleaned. By the way, we could not fault the general cleaning of the room, so tipped them well when we departed. Any further suggestions to change rooms were met by a deafening, awkward silence by staff. Almost as if they were briefed NOT to accommodate room changes under any circumstances! We gave up trying in the end. They breakfast food was just ok- but the beans tended to be not very hot, but there was variety. The evening meal was better, but there was room for improvement. As though getting guests money was paramount to any other concerns, drinks bought at mealtimes was followed b
