We arrived in the dark and initial thoughts were, this doesn't feel like a 4 star establishment, especially when we had to make our own way to the room - thankful to the torch on the phone. Initial thoughts on the room, somewhat disappointed compared to our usual stays - beds very firm, pillows (no pillow menu here!) hard, room spacious and bathroom clean but not inspiring or with any additional items other than soap. We went half-board, thought the price differential wasn't that much, but the evening meal, very average. In the end we went out most evenings as there are plenty of really nice local establishments, most within walking distance although we got taxis home. Breakfast, we stayed 10 nights, again, average in my view and what was very annoying was the regular lack of English breakfast tea. The staff, have to say they were friendly and very helpful and the rooms were kept well cleaned. Drink prices, reasonable although we went out a lot and there were 2 supermarkets very close by for room provisions. We had to pay local tax in cash when we arrived, no problem with that but very surprised as many others have said on departure, you are required to clear your room by 11am and many flights leave much later than that. If you want a shower, then that's 10 Euros each, otherwise get changed in the toilet. Also, one change of beach towel per week each or another 2 Euros for a change. Just felt cheap to us, not found that anywhere else in the world where we have stayed. Overall we really enjoyed the holiday, with most of the time away from the hotel, probably used the pool 3 times, it was good but not exactly exciting and for some, the deep end was nearly 6 foot - fine for me but others found it a struggle. Svoronata itself, a nice place to stay although quite quiet. Plenty of restaurants and great sunsets with more sandy beaches than the rest of the island. We are very likely to return to the island in the future, but we wouldn't be coming back to Astra village.

Perfectly located hotel with the harbour only 20 metres away in one direction, which was perfect for morning turtle watching and the main shopping and eating street about the same distance the other way. The hotel itself is small and intimate with friendly and excellent staff. It had everything we wanted in the room and we enjoyed relaxing on the rooftop with the jacuzzi before heading out to see the beautiful sights of Kefalonia.

Δυστυχώς το δωμάτιό μας (206 στο ισόγειο) δεν είχε καμία σχέση με τις φωτογραφίες που είχαμε δει και δεν ήταν καθόλου αυτό που περιμέναμε. Οι τοίχοι, πέραν του ότι δεν είχαν βαφτεί, είχαν σημάδια από παντόφλες και σκοτωμένα κουνούπια. Υπήρχε μία πόρτα που συνέδεε το δωμάτιό μας με το διπλανό (κλειδωμένη ευτυχώς). Το καπάκι της τουαλέτας ήταν ξεχαρβαλωμένο, η τάπα του νιπτήρα το ίδιο, η ντουζιέρα μέσα στα άλατα και με ένα πλέξιγκλας από τη μία μόνο μεριά με αποτέλεσμα τα νερά να πετιούνται παντού όταν κάνεις μπάνιο. Το παράθυρο του μπάνιου, χωρίς σίτα, επικοινωνούσε με το διάδρομο που βρισκόταν το ασανσέρ με αποτέλεσμα να βλέπεις (και να σε βλέπει) όποιον περνάει αν το είχες ανοιχτό. Οι πετσέτες που μας έφεραν, τις 2 από τις 5 μέρες, είχαν τρύπα. Η πόρτα του δωματίου είχε μεγάλο κενό από το πάτωμα, δεν υπήρχε καμία ηχομόνωση. Άκουγες τα πάντα και ξυπνούσες κάθε φορά που κάποιος περνούσε, αφού άκουγες μέχρι και τον ήχο της παντόφλας του. Στο μπαλκόνι, από τη μία μεριά δεν μπορούσες να κάτσεις όταν οι από πάνω είχαν ανοιχτό το ερκοντίσιον τους, καθώς αυτό έσταζε ακριβώς στο σημείο που ήταν η καρέκλα. Επίσης το μπαλκόνι ήταν δίπλα στο γκαζόν το οποίο ήταν απεριποίητο καθώς δεν ήταν κουρεμένο και έφτανε σχεδόν τους 30 πόντους ύψος. Το πρωινό, παρόλο που υπήρχε ποικιλία, ποιοτικά ήταν μέτριο. Το μεσημεριανό που επιλέξαμε να φάμε μία μέρα ήταν αξιοπρεπέστατο, αλλά ιδιαίτερα ακριβό δεδομένου ότι βρίσκεσαι στο ξενοδοχείο (12€ η χωριάτικη, 6€ η μπύρα κλπ). Το προσωπικό επίσης ήταν πολύ ευγενικό, εξυπηρετικό και πρόθυμο να βοηθήσει σε ό,τι χρειάζεσαι! Αλλά δυστυχώς η συνολική εμπειρία μας, με το συγκεκριμένο δωμάτιο, ήταν ιδιαίτερα κακή και σίγουρα δεν ανταποκρινόταν στα χρήματα που είχαμε δώσει (σχεδόν 100€ ανά βράδυ).

This is a gret hotel! The rooms have AC, which is must. Our room had a little kitchen too. Beds are comfortable. You get a safe with a key in your room. The maid refreshes towles etc each day. They provide pool towels. The hotel is clean in all areas. It is 3min walk to the super crystal clear waters of Skala beach, a 2 min walk to the first restaurant and a 9min walk in to central Skala.The staff are so welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is varied but always hits the spot. Theo, the pool barman is a legend and looks after you. The Pool bar offers snacks from a cheese tostie for 4 euros upto chicken Gyros for 12.5 euros. All the ususal drinks available from Mythos beer on tap to proper coffee depending on your mood. We went away for a week to just chill out and the hotel made sure that happened. When I go back to Kefalonia I will 100% staye here.

Wowwww! I can only say amazing things about this place... the owner Mr George, the staff Mina, Makis and the others are just great! The freshly made food and drinks are priceless with the breathtaking view ”Window to Kephalonia” as someone called it there! Sunsets by the pool are unique here. The rooms have safe, fire jackets, small stove and oven with everything for cooking and a refrigerator... but why cook when they are such good cooks 🤩. I didn't need the ac, but there is one, as well as extra blankets if you need. If you need a hair dryer or iron they can lend you one at the front desk. If you cam drive manual cars I strongly recommend Alex from Via Venetia for great cars at amazing prices if you have International drivers license, otherwise get a well known car company Enterprice etc. A car is only recommended if you want to see the island. Liberatos Village is up a hill that will keep your body in shape and that bathingsuit looking great! Get a hat here and bring your sunblock! They offer small soaps, towels and bedsheets. I stayed here 7 nights and really felt at home... room F4 had an amazing balcony and spacious/comfortable room! Make sure to visit the Church up the hill and the cave inside the church!
