Wow, what a wonderful stay we had. We stayed 2 nights and that was not enough. We had the Thistle room. What a luxury room with a lot of gadgets. Who got a rainforest shower with a steamer in it at home?! Unique also the Whiskybar. Hundreds of bottles to try, that makes my husband happy. Thank you Anne Jan & Siebette!

Friendly and very comfortable place to stay, well situated for countryside walks and sightseeing. Breakfasts were excellent ,as was the one evening meal we took. The EV charger was very useful to recharge the car in the evenings, and we did enjoy a dram or two! Sharing one big table with other guests (4) was sociable and fun, and we enjoyed the company.

This B&B just outside of Dufftown was an amazing place to stay while visiting the Speyside region. The owners have done a remarkable job renovating the B&B - with lots of unexpected details like whiskey barrel staves as balusters on the stairway handrail. They offer lots of breakfast options, which were all great, and the dinner option is really great when not eating in Dufftown. The views around the B&B are also fantastic - we loved looking out the large windows during breakfast. And finally, we had a great time relaxing in the whiskey room. The owners have personally curated an impressive selection of whiskeys (and some gin & rum), and they were able to recommend some options for us to taste based on our preferences. If we ever have the chance to go back to Scotland, we will absolutely make sure Gables Whiskey is on our list. There are so many towns to explore near Dufftown - this is a great home base a little off the beaten track where you can relax and enjoy great company & whiskey.

Even if Gables is a wee bit off the beaten track I'd say it's actually located in the heart of Speyside whisky country. With easy access in any direction to famous distilleries , the legendary Queen of all salmon rivers in Scotland, River Spey, and the charming Speyside villages, Gables must be considered as a solid base for exploring this region. With Sibette and Anne Jan as your hosts, you are in deed in safe hands. When it comes to level of service there aren't many around who can compete with their standard. Always with the guest in focus, casual in style, but still very professional, you only have to enjoy your stay at Gables. The place is impeccable clean and the rooms are truly comfortable with a decor which will blow the whisky enthusiast off the track. There are plenty of detail for the observant eye in this B&B and the host has an obvious weak spot for electronically finesse. There is an impressive choice of single malts on offer in the lounge in the main building, and there is even a cigar lounge in a cozy cabin just a few steps away from the walls of the B&B. The breakfast served at Gables will give you a solid kick off for your adventures in Speyside and further afield. Even an evening meal can be cocked for you so you don't need to rush to Dufftown or Aberlour in order to fill your belly. Our mini whisky team from Norway have now stayed at Gables two times, and from the three of us to the hosts Sibette and Anne Jan. Thanks a lot for running such a brilliant place.

I can't say enough good things about this B & B and the hosts AJ and Siebette - this B & B is now the gold standard by which all future B & Bs will be compared against!! We stayed in the Thistle Room which is the largest and most luxurious of the 4 rooms and we weren't disappointed - large room and a HUGE bathroom (with steam shower!) plus a very comfortable beds (King size). The location is in beautiful countryside just outside Dufftown and the minute you arrive, you can relax in your room or in the whisky lounge (over 580 whiskies and counting). The views from the B & B are just amazing (picture postcard!). The hosts are super welcoming and are always open to share their love and knowledge of the area and whisky! Delicious breakfasts and the option of a good dinner followed by relaxing in the lounge made our stay so special - really felt like a home-away-from-home on our 3 week trip to Scotland. The location is perfect for visiting the majority of Speyside distilleries - we managed to visit 12 during our stay here and only 1-2 were more than 25 minutes away.

This fantastic place to stay and tour the SpeySide. Great location and above all the house and the hostess are wonderful. Their whiskey bar is amazing. Don't miss it! Breakfast is great and dinner as well. They even have cigars lounge on a wood cabin. You wake up in the mornings to a postcard

Our family (parents + 3 adult children) stayed at the Inn for two nights. We had 3 rooms. My wife and I stayed in the Thistle master room. Our kids stayed in the other two rooms on the top floor. These rooms have beds that can be moved so that they are either twins or a large king. Each room had their own bathroom. Our master room had a large shower that could also be a steam room. We didn't use the steam because of time constraints with our other activities. We had dinner there one night and breakfast both mornings. We also did some whisky tasting on one night. Our stay was very relaxing and enjoyable. The master bed was comfortable and firm (the way we like it). It was also very quiet. For the mornings, we ate breakfast in the enclosed porch area and looked out to fields of sheep and cows. The food was great and plentiful. We would highly recommend staying here. One aspect that didn't affect us but good for others to know is that there really isn't a living room or a place to lounge outside of the whisky room which (understandably) is locked when the hosts are not around. But the rooms have couches or chairs to sit and relax. The town (Dufftown) is very close and there are a ton of distilleries in the area. We also toured the Speyside Cooperage which was very enjoyable. We ate dinner at the Indian resteraunt in Dufftown and wouldn't recommend it. I am Indian and this was not very good Indian food. Everything was overly sweet - even some of the dishes that were supposed to be spicy. Also, Dufftown tends to shut down at night so don't plan on any type of party scene. We stayed there during the week in Oct so maybe that was the reason.

We have been to the Gables Whisky B&B in 2019 in the heart of the Speyside and now we were back! And how great to see upgrades in kitchen and bathrooms and a great choice in breakfast and now also dinner! No need to go out for dinner anymore. It was already great then, but now it even exceeded our experiences. Anne-Jan and Siebette are terrific hosts, who make your stay relaxed and at ease. Food is good, rooms very clean and tidy and their knowledge of whisky is amazing. For every bite/snack or meal they have the perfect whisky. So in summary; great place to stay, good food and whisky and in the middle among so many distilleries!
