The Viking Nona was advertised as a 4* hotel and the package we had was all inclusive. On arrival immediately found the receptionist did not speak English, (the language barrier was to be a constant issue throughout our stay as we found out). The hotel offers free WiFi however what is not mentioned at the time of booking is that this is limited to the reception area only and if you want WiFi in your rooms or around the hotel it will set you back 18 euros each for seven days so not the best start being ripped for an extra 36 euros. We booked a double room but for some reason it had an extra single bed in it, which proved to be a help as the double bed was so uncomfortable my wife could not sleep in it, the mattress was old, worn out and with hard spots in numerous areas. The air conditioning was found to be in the same worn out state and did not work consistently, with the unit only pushing out a very low volume of air, it varied from cool to luke warm which given the temperatures made getting a good nights sleep impossible, we had to resort to sleeping with the balcony door wide open to gain some relief with night time temperatures at 24 Celsius being cooler than the room. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms, this was due to " an issue" in the past which led to these being removed apparently, so if you wanted coffee you had to trek to the dining area and use the machine. There were no plugs for the bath or the hand basin so i had to try to make my own out of the paper soap dish in the bathroom to be able to shave in the mornings, the shower unit is also old and consists of a shower head and tap configuration in the bath whilst the shower was powerful the shower head would not remain at the top position without being held there it was also very slippy in the bath as the bath did not drain well and after a shower you were almost ankle deep in water care must be taken in getting in and out as floor also very slippery with no non slip mat or covering. The room was in a tatty state with water staining visible on the walls below the air conditioning unit, there were also chipped plaster patches around the patio door reveals. The architrave around the entrance door was loose and showed to be attached via silicone sealant with a patch of missing plaster around the right hand side. Food was found to cater to mainly Russian / Eastern European taste consisting of rice and a minced meat dish from the previous evening served as part of breakfast, there was also hard boiled eggs salad and a variety of cold meats and fruit available which was not particularly appetising. There were fried eggs and omelettes cooked but these were usually over done and luke warm The evening meals consisted of the same /very similar fare, however the lunches were reasonable to be fair with cold chicken and other meats with fresh mixed salads and fruit plus the usual sweet treats but as we did not want to be tied to a time when out and about we decided

Where do I start… From the moment that we had arrived at this hotel there were problems. First off the hotel staff were rude and incompetent and didn’t understand a word of English but could understand Russian and German as well as Turkish surely they would cater to English speakers too. The security guard constantly threatened us with the police due to ‘noise’ The ‘hotel rep’ demanded that we come to the meeting at 10:30am when we had landed late at night and just wanted to enjoy our day He was repetitively repeating the same things over again The rooms were all messed up and the air con didn’t work which resulted in a lot of room changes. The rooms were also messed up with The staff didn’t care for the health and safety of the hotel especially around the pool area which in return resulted in a major injury and another child had also slipped straight after The drinks at the bar very limited to what we could drink as usually for non alcohol drinkers they have a mock tail menu but we could only have fizzy drinks. The food was mediocre to say the least Food has no flavour and it was continuously the same type of dishes such as pasta and rice There was favouritism towards the guests who were Eastern European We as a family felt very uncomfortable due to the stares and the lack of care given towards us as a family of 15 The rooms were dirty as there were things left under beds such as dirty underwear and other items from previous guests The staff stood around talking to each other and were very slow in cleaning tables The entertainment well I wouldn’t call it entertainment to be honest The only thing that was remotely entertaining was the belly dancer Don’t bother getting ice creams if you don’t want a inflated charge at the end of your stay €10 euros for missing towels if you don’t hand them in at the end of the day The manager I have no bad words to say about as he spoke very good English and helped us in any way Do not come to this hotel!!! It was the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed at and well if I could rate it less than one star then I would.

A hotel below any criticism; Dirt, cockroaches, old and damaged room equipment, the lack of any dishes to eat and drink in the room, the lack of a kettle - and even the lack of enough dishes in the canteen and bar, which resulted in the widespread use of plastic and polystyrene cups. Lack of interest of the hotel staff and management in guests and their satisfaction with the service. It is not possible to communicate in English with anyone in the hotel - including the reception!

#onthebeach booked holiday through on the beach. We normally use loveholidys never had any issues. First problem we were booked to fly with corendon airlines, see separate reviews. Flights cancelled, changed and delayed yes all three. Initially tried to rearrange flights through on the beach they didn’t want to know said hard luck. Next issues due to flights being changed car park at Bristol wasn’t able to change as fully booked. So we knew we’d be four hours early. Corendon unable to do online checking at Bristol. They open gates 2 1/2 hours before boarding. Flight ok. No hot food on plane and one choice of sandwich. Landed 1:30 am taken to hotel of horrors VIKING NONA BEACH HAD A STENCH OF MOULD AND DAMP. BEDDING REAKED OF DAMP. DRAWER HAD MOULD IN. MOULD ON CEILINGS , if not so late we would have left instantly! In the morning wanted a shower bathroom was disgusting! Went down to restaurant expecting all inclusive buffet none there only 1 other person in hotel he was doing bed and breakfast he said worst hotel ever. We were informed not fully inclusive but we could go to other hotel. There were a pack of wild dogs growling outside by pool area. Pool was half full with thick mildew and mould in. So we got a transfer to new hotel. Please avoid VIKING NONA HOTEL FOR YOUR OWN HEALTH AND SANITY. THIS REMINDED US OF THE SHINING MEETS THE HOTEL FROM THE INBETWEENERS MOVIE HOWEVER SH***ing on the floor wouldn’t be out place. Truly disgusting. On the beach are still advertising this don’t go! See true photos as photos on web site are not true photos!

Stayed here with my wife and found the proximity to the beach and town centre just perfect. The hotel staff were fine and the hotel was clean and tidy. Rooms were cleaned daily. We spent the first morning by the pool, which was cold and small, so the rest of our stay was spent on the pebble beach which had a small bar that wasn't included in the all-inclusive. The hotel food was well prepared and presented but not particularly varied so we soon got bored of eating the same thing. The hotel bar served Tuborg lager on tap and non branded vodka and gin with the all-inclusive along with soft drinks. So not much choice really. Cocktails were chargeable. Hotel WiFi was a chargeable extra too and mostly delivered a very poor and intermittent connection. During our 7 day stay there were 2 evenings of "entertainment" which just consisted of somebody singing some songs. The neighbouring hotels certainly sounded like they were having a better time most evenings.

Turned up at this hotel for a 10 day all inclusive holiday to find that the hotel was only catering for B&B. The pool was closed and very dirty, there was no alcohol and it was musky and damp. The beach was closed and the room that we have seen was in a shocking condition. The only good point was leaving in a taxi to be relocated in the sister hotel which was spotless and had all inclusive.
