The Climbers Inn

On Day 2 of the Kerry Way out of Kilarney, I think this is only one of two places to stay. The rooms are fine and the pub underneath is good/fun (as is the breakfast). I'm primarily writing because the staff was so helpful to me and my wife after an injury at the end of the day's hike. My wife injured her arm from a fall (we later found out it was broken) about 5 in the afternoon on a Friday. There are no real emergency services near Glencar. The staff organized us a taxi to get back to Kilarney (where we picked up our car and proceeded to Tralee Emergency room). They made sure we could back into our room in the middle of the night (2 a.m. return from hospital), and gave us extra time in the morning to sleep in and get our act together. They truly helped us during a very stressful 24 hours.

Excellent two bedroom flat with great bar and restaurant below . Good mixture of locals and climbers . We even met three local moth men searching for rare moths ! Great location for climbing the Reeks and walking Kerry way . Guinness great and we had great steak sarnies and lamb .

Most lovely place to stay after a beautiful walk. The team off the climbers inn knows how to make you feel good: warm welcome, lovely smiles, nice room with a good hot shower, authentic pub with strong food, adorable shop and PO... Just the place to be while walking the Kerry Way. The walk from Black Valley can be very difficult (we just walked from Bridia and I would recommend that), especially when it rains, the people off the Climbers Inn know that and they will take care off you. We just loved this place.

We enjoyed our stay at Climbers Inn. The rooms were a little tight for 4 tall adults but the beds were comfortable, the shower was hot and it was perfect for one night. Lost one star for absence of wifi in the guest room. It is in the restaurant and lobby. Sons enjoyed the bar. Dinner was delicious. Went for a hike and enjoyed it. Continental breakfast was outstanding. Long, winding, scary drive to get there but would stay here again.

After a difficult grind on a wet day through the Black Valley the Climbers Inn was an oasis to recover. The staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The food portions were huge and welcome after the tough slog. The room was clean and comfortable. Highly recommended. Thanks for a great night stay.

Loved my stay here. Very welcoming people. I was called by my name from moment I arrived felt right at home. Had food in the bar lunch & dinner both really good. Plenty of chaty locals in the bar ,pints where good . Room was really clean & modern ,bed comfy. Great cooked breakfast by staff with a smile can't be beaten. Only downside I wasn't there for another day.
