A beautiful place just by the Lough Currane, very quiet, confortable, ideally located between the southern part of Kerry Ring and the Skellig way which brings you up to the Kerry Cliffs. Ann made us feel at ease immediately, gave precious advice about the surroudings, and cooks a wondeful Irish breakfast which you'll enjoy watching the mountains behind the lough. We're looking forward to our next stay at Currane Lodge!

Had such a wonderful stay here!! I stayed here as part of a solo hike of the Kerry Way. (Also if you are hiking the Kerry Way, you can walk directly to Currane Lodge from the trail quite easily! When you descend from the hill overlooking the lake just turn left onto the paved road instead of right. Ann was kind enough to give me a ride back into Waterville the next morning to continue my hike from there :-) Ann also provides an evening meal service if you call in advance, and no exaggeration it was my favorite meal of the whole trip (and I ate A LOT of really delicious and fresh food during my 10 days in Co Kerry!) The location is so gorgeous right on the lake. I was only here one night and wish I could have spent another day (another family at the B&B had booked a fishing tour which sounded like a lot of fun!) Anyway can't recommend highly enough. Enjoy!

We had the joy of spending 2 nights with Ann at the Currane Lodge just outside of Waterville. The Lodge is warm and inviting and our room was very comfortable. Ann took great care of us and was very knowledgable about the area. She spoiled us with wonderful breakfasts and packed us fresh baked goods for our daily adventures. The Lodge is located about a 5 minute drive from Waterville which had wonderful restaurants, beautiful views, and a great little coffee shop. Staying at the Lodge was one of the best parts of our trip.

The Currane Lodge is a treasure. While it feels like home (thanks to Ann’s gracious hospitality), it’s also gives you the feeling that you are on vacation, in peaceful and beautiful settings where you are well taken care of. The B&B is romantically overlooking the Lough Currane and you can sit for hours in the dining room, or outside, and just drink in the views. But it’s not only about the views: Ann, the host, provides exceptional service: fantastic and sumptuous food (her breakfast and baking are famous!), a good listening ear and many suggestions that enriched our trip (i.e. she arranged a lovely evening boat ride for us to the little Church Island in the middle of Lough Currane with a very knowledgeable guide). Her spacious, ensuite rooms are well equipped, clean and welcoming. We walked the Kerry Way in May. By far – by far – this was the best B&B stay along our walk. I highly recommend Ann and her Currane Lodge and I cannot wait to get back there. Thank you, Ann.

Ann was the ideal bed & breakfast host. She accommodated our family of five’s late arrival. Plus, Ann provided a delicious and filling breakfast including traditional Irish breakfast and kid favorites like waffles. She gave us so many wonderful suggestions for ways to spend our time in Waterville. We would highly recommend you bring your family to Currane Lodge if visiting SW Ireland.

This is just a wonderful B&B! Located overlooking the stunning scenery of Lough Currane, just a 6 minute drive from Waterville. Ann is such a professional host and our booking emails were quickly responded to eveeytime. The lodge is spotlessly clean with great thought put into all aspects of health and safety, and lots of parking available And the breakfast! Full array of hot or cold options available with something new to choose from each day, along with Ann's own freshly baked scones and brown bread e.g. full or mini Irish, pancakes, bagels, fruit plates with yoghurt and fresh specials. Vegetarians/vegans are very well catered for, which was much appreciated. All this served to you while looking out at one of the most scenic areas in the country! Our family of two adults and two young boys stayed in Room 6 which was perfect, a real home from home, with a sofa to relax on also. It had a roomy ensuite with modern shower. Being located on the second floor, the skylight windows provided excellent views and ventilation. This large room had a double bed and two huge single beds, and the bed linen was just so comfortable. A fridge and microwave were provided in the room also which was so helpful, along with kettle and tea/coffee making facilities. Also lots of storage areas and plug points and free WIFI. Ann and her family are fountains of knowledge on the area and so helpful when looking to plan your day. To drive the Skellig Ring from Waterville to Portmagee is an unforgettable experience - a strong driver is advised! Do not miss the stop on the way to view the Skelligs from the Kerry Cliffs viewing point (€15 for family)! Valentia Island is a lovely drive, we really enjoyed looking at the Tetrapod Trackway dating back to 385 million years ago! Derrynane House and Gardens are stunning with a short walk to the amazing Derrynane Beach from the car park. In the evening, a local taximan brought us to Waterville and back so we could enjoy some of the local restaurants The Lobster Pot and The Villa, which were great. On another night, we collected a chipper tea from the excellent Roadhouse Takeaway and enjoyed it in the front dining area of Lodge. There is just so much to do in this area, and Currane Lodge was the perfect place for us to base ourselves. If travelling to Currane Lodge from Dublin, you might consider travelling via Kilorglin / Cahirsiveen route and entering the lodge's Eircode on arrival in Waterville. That way you can still enjoy the Ring of Kerry. Otherwise the Eircode entered from Dublin will bring you through the magical Ballaghisheen Pass which requires very strong driving skills and a strong nerve. Thank you Ann and family for making our holiday so wonderful, we really appreciated everything
