"The newest hotel in Medan city. Beautiful facade and lobby with a small gym and swimming pool on level 2. We had a peaceful night sleep on level 6. Didn’t hear any loud music from the 16th floor of bar/disco. The only sound we heard is the occasional train that passes on the tracks which was nice to watch. Welcome drink was appreciated on arrival. The breakfast buffet spread was lovely and extensive. It’s really walking distance to Delipark Mall. Will be back again. Our Deluxe King room was alright but we found it weird when there is a notice to inform us not to flush toilet paper in the WC so had to use the bidet."

"Everything was perfectly fine! I was just a bit shocked that the local beer bintang cost 12€. Even without the service fee of 2€. 10€ is far to much. But the staff was very friendly and helpful with everything."

"I booked 2 non-smoking room but the staffs mention that it is not written. I have to then show the proof but it is pointless, they do not have enough room to accommodate. The swimming pool is attached to the condominium swimming pool and the staff has to manually escort guests to go in through a separate path. They also do not inform to take the in-room towel. Also lastly, the in-room towels are filthy. The hotel can do a better job in washing the towels"

"Room is decent and comfortable for the price we paid. The hotel is located beside Indomaret and a coffee shop. At night, there is halal stall open in front of hotel for easy dinner. Suitable for travellers who only want to rest after adventuring the city."

"FRONTDESK: Absolutely great people, from start till the time a check out - the level is service is no where incomparable to any of the hotels I have stayed in Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam or Thailand. Most of the time, traveling in these countries they tend to worship westerners but in Indonesia everyone are treated equally as guests. The only problem I had with this hotel was the room - it was dim, no plug or USB point to plug my laptop and work gadgets or comfortable chair or table to work from - it was a business trip and need strong WiFi as well. (Just my room, I cant speak for the rest) - but when my driver picked my airport - he did ask why i did I chose to stay at Grand Inna?? The place needs a big upgrade and refurbishment. The location is Ideal to be in the city centre, nice eateries around but room not so great. Food is great though."

On our last night, we ran into a bit of trouble — the AC in our room suddenly started making loud noises in the middle of the night. Not exactly ideal when you’re hoping for a peaceful rest. But here’s what impressed me: the hotel staff handled it so well. They responded quickly, offered us a new room without hesitation, and even helped us pack and move our belongings. It’s rare to see that kind of care and attention, especially in the middle of the night. Thanks to their swift action, what could have been a frustrating night turned out to be just a minor hiccup — and we were able to get back to a restful sleep without much trouble. Hotel Design and Amenities The hotel itself is beautifully designed — modern yet inviting. We stayed in one of their Japanese-style rooms, which turned out to be a real highlight. The room had a peaceful Tatami area, adding a lovely touch of authenticity. It felt like stepping into a little corner of Japan — perfect for relaxing after a long day. Plus, the Jacuzzi in the room was an amazing bonus — just what we needed to unwind. Ramadan Dining Experience Since we visited during Ramadan, the hotel’s thoughtful approach to accommodating fasting guests was a real plus. Their Sahoor menu was fantastic — delicious, filling, and full of variety. It felt like they genuinely cared about making sure we had a satisfying start to our day. In the evenings, their iftar session was another standout. The setup — both indoors and outdoors by the pool — created a relaxed yet festive atmosphere. The menu was well-curated, offering a range of tasty dishes at a reasonable price. To top it off, their lobby café offered complimentary tea, coffee, and small iftar snacks every afternoon — a thoughtful touch that felt incredibly welcoming. Location Being right in the heart of Medan was another big win. Whether you’re exploring the city’s vibrant food scene or heading out for business, the hotel’s central location makes everything easily accessible. Room Cleanliness and Maintenance While the room itself was clean and well-maintained, I felt the bathroom could have used a bit more attention — perhaps a deeper clean to really match the otherwise high standards of the hotel. That said, this was more about my personal preference for spotless surfaces than any major issue. Ambiance and Atmosphere One interesting thing I noticed was that the hotel seemed to attract a well-dressed, elegant crowd — it felt like a place where Medan’s esteemed ladies and gentlemen regularly gathered. There was an air of sophistication that added to the charm.
