A big disappointment in staying here. My wife and I took our three sons to Khao Kho during the Songkran holiday. This place was on our short list due to the view and its proximity to the beautiful temple. Traveling with three boys, I was a bit concerned with the safety of the premise since it is located on quite a steep hill. Before making the reservation, I called the place and asked about the safety issue of the location and the steep hill. The (owner?) Ms. Ling said that there has never been any issue of complaints regarding safety and they had many many guests bringing their children. We ended up booking two nights there. When we got there, it’s not the case. There’s plenty of safety hazards on-site. The most serious one is the walkway leading to the tents, there is a rope about waist high with net that connects with the floor of the walkway. This should serve as a safety barrier to prevent people from falling, however, the connection between the net and the floor has came loose, leaving a big gaping hole. My youngest son almost fell through the hole. We informed the staff about this and they promptly tried to fix it with a black rope. But the net is so old that it is starting to disintegrate so it is still not very safe. The tent itself is quite big and spacious with air conditioning, a shower and toilet inside. The floor inside the tent is laid with laminate/ engineered wood floor tiles so it is flat and you don’t walk on tarp, but probably due to the humidity, some of the floor tiles, especially in the bathroom area, has became soft and mushy and moldy, it doesn’t feel very hygienic. Same is with the bean bags and cushions inside the tent, feels moldy and not very clean. During our stay, we had problems with the water supply in the shower in both nights . In the first night, the water flow is so low that it doesn’t trigger the water heater. Later we found out that the manager forgot to open the main valve supplying water to the tents. In the second night, the water supply is normal for about two minutes and after that it cuts off completely. My son was all soaped up and the water just completely stopped. Took them almost an hour to trouble shoot and fix the problem. They say that there is a pipe leakage in the lower sections, emptying their water tanks. For breakfast, you get to choose sandwiches and/or Thai style boiled rice soup Khaotom. The taste is not bad, but I feel it’s too basic considering the price we paid for the stay. In the morning after the first night, I called Ms. Ling mentioning my concerns about safety. I wanted to cancel the second night and get a refund. She outright refused me saying they have no policy of giving refund and that it is clearly written on the booking confirmation letter. Fair enough, it is indeed written on the letter, so we went on and stayed for the second night. But coming back home, seeing the review here by “katty siri” that Ms. Ling not only gave them a refund for the second night, she also
