The Begelly Arms Hotel

Four of us visited on a busy Saturday night. Our main reason was to enjoy the Motown and Soul night in the function room. About 100 guests/diners/then dancers! Tables of 10 with strangers mixed with those known to each other, but it worked very well- a bit like a wedding party. The excellent act, Ruby Kay (vocalist, and good too) followed dinner. Dinner was a relatively simple affair but delicious. A large tasty chicken breast in a creamy leek sauce with potatos and vegetables. This was followed by traditional style black forest gateaux. The waitresses worked very hard to quickly serve dinner and it was piping hot. Then came the excellent Ruby with a tremendous soulful voice and singing many classics. Again, she worked hard between around half past eight up until eleven with only a ten minute break. Praise to the hard working staff and those behind the scenes cooking. If you get chance to see Ruby on the circuit, don't miss her if you like soul music. A good night, well done Begelly.

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch here. The food was delicious and the biscoff cheesecake was the best cheesecake I've ever had! Service was quick. The decor is quite dated but it's a cute place and everything is very clean. A nice place for family lunch.

We had a booking for 2pm for a roast dinner. The waitress turned up 15 mins later, after stopping her to take our order. Over 30 mins later we still hadn't been served, and people who arrived later had already received they're meal. At that point we decided to leave. It was the worst service I had ever had, and we won't be going back EVER

Amazing experience as always. I am a vegetarian with a gluten intolerance and I am always catered for. Food was piping hot and tasted amazing. Brilliant service with staff who go above and beyond each and every time I visit. Would highly recommend to everyone and everyone.

We stayed here on a Sunday night. Checking in at 2pm we were greeted by the overwhelming smell of cabbage from the Sunday Roast lunches. It took hours for the smell to go. Our room was in need a an update. The bed was old and uncomfortable with a metal frame. During the night there was a constant knocking sound coming from the roof. The breakfast was poor, no fruit and very little choice. For £100 per room per night this is a poor B&B.

Excellent camper stopover. There are 4 hardstanding pitches that are fully serviced with electricity, water and waste pipe. Very clean and well looked after. Excellent price. We didn't use the pub during evening but had breakfast the next morning. Will certainly return here.
