"Friendly, good value, waking distance to historic centre and several good restaurants. But no breakfast, and nowhere open nearby before 09h00 except a Lawson and a small Nepalese Cafe. Bonus: hotel, surprisingly, has a good onsen on the 8th floor. 10 minute bus ride from station. Hotel and Tourist Office are both adjacent to the bus terminal."

"Do note that it is outskirts of hiji, driving at night is quite quiet. The hotel doesn’t have private bath in the room so do take note as showering will be shared under traditional public bath house. Family bath house is available for booking only, which the staff let us use it during the two nights there. Thank you for the great service!"

"I stayed a week ago. It was a Bon Festival, but I stayed cheaply. I made a reservation because it is close to Harmony Land. It was close so I'm glad I was able to sleep until the last minute. The correspondence of the hotel was very nice. I think it's better to bring amenities because it's cheap. I'm worried about the unique smell of the toilet and bath, but I think it's a common smell in cheap hotels. Overall satisfied"

"I booked this place very last minute and it only cost me 10,000yen. Only 10 minute walk to Oita Airport and has a 7/11 convinience store right infront. You have to check in through phone which might be hard for non-native speakers but luckily another guest helped me out. The check-in desk can also speak a bit of english and was very kind. Overall, for the price and time, the place was very much worth it! Clean and good ammenities. Would recommend."

"The closest hotel to Harmonyland which allows you to take taxi to and from the theme park at a reasonable price. The hotel basically provides everything from snacks, drinks and meals all day including dinner and breakfast, everything was excellent. I was aware that Mercure is an international hotel chain thus the vibes of the hotel itself can’t truly be entirely Japanese. However, I was still very satisfied with my stay overall. I was so lucky to see some cherry blossom trees still in their peak at the hotel parking lot while the peak of most other trees in different areas had already passed. The hotel also offers free shuttle from and to Beppu Station which we found to be very helpful."

Awesome lobby, incredible seaview, great service, competent and very polite staff, good food, room very clean, onsen is great with free branded amenities choices 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. location is a bit off, fortunately have shuttle. Special thanks to Harada san 👍🏻👍🏻 helped to arrange smooth transfer from hotel to airport. Appreciate the hospitality from quite a number of multilingual staff 👏🏻👏🏻. Onsen is great, unlimited free drinks! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻coffee, coke, green tea, etc 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Breakfast is good, value for money, nice to try. Dinner is 90-mins semi buffet, no choice for the set, special arrangement if you don’t eat beef, but take some time. Lots of wine varieties, if you don’t drink alcohol, the dinner price is NOT worth. My comment: Highly recommended. need to have car, my case is with sudden car break down with no replacement. Grandvrio did a great job!👏🏻👏🏻"
