The Silk Rooms, at the Freemasons Inn

Lovely rooms in central Knutsford setting. Good access to shops, fab bar opposite and coffee shops close By. Room decor bit dark but overall spacious , attractive and lovely bathroom. We had room 3 which recommended. Be warned automatic door lock only works with palm of hand on pad!!

We enjoyed our one night stay at The Silk Rooms whilst visiting family. The rooms are well placed in the centre of Knutsford with lots of eateries nearby. The automated check in worked well and we were impressed with the size of our bedroom, small hallway and bathroom. The rooms are painted in very dark colours which was fine during the day when the sun was shining but would be a bit gloomy on a dull day. The large bed was very comfortable and, once the planes landing at Manchester airport had stopped flying overhead at midnight, we slept well (It would help if the windows were double glazed). There was a coffee maker in the room and a kettle, plenty of tea and coffee but not enough milk (you really needed two sachets of milk in the coffee and we only had five so were only able to make one drink). There was also only one packet of two biscuits which seemed a bit mean when the room had been booked for two people. The bathroom was wet room style and was large with an excellent shower. The sink, however, was ridiculously tiny - not big enough to wash your face without water going everywhere and no space under the tap to fill the kettle - there was plenty of room for a decent sized sink so this seemed a strange decision. On the whole, a reasonable place to stay but with a few less than perfect aspects.

Excellent location and Knutsford is a lovely town under the flightpath of Manchester airport (loads of planes) . Very nice room, the bed was really comfortable, nice temperature and very clean and tidy. Was in room 2 and upstairs was very noisy and creaky at night, sounded like someone was walking around in circles. The shower was good though sprays water all over the bathroom floor. Also the window for the bathroom is right next to the walkway so someone will get an eyeful if you forget to close the blinds. Overall really good

Silk Mill - what a beautiful boutique property! The decor and furnishings are exquisite. We loved the contactless and keyless aspect of our check-in - there was no waiting around and instructions to check in was very straight forward. Our room was lovely and cosy with a very comfortable king size bed. The location and parking facilities were perfect. Thank You

Loved the decor and a really great location. Shame the pub was being refurbished as I’m sure it would have been great. Location was fantastic being in the middle of the town and we went to a great Spanish restaurant recommended by the owner. Also great that we could walk out to Tatton Park in the morning. Small point and mostly of my making being a light sleeper, but there was a lot of noise with people coming back from the pub and being on the flight path I was woken up by planes at 6am.

Such a beautifully furnished place and very central to Knutsford. A really lovely stay and perfect shower with the comfiest bed. Lovely design and bed linen. Lots of lovely places to eat nearby. Check in perfect. Highly recommend this gem.
