We had a very friendly welcome from our hostess with welcome drinks, a small snack and a scented damp refresher towel. The grounds are beautiful - lush, green and well kept. We were bumped up to a lovely room with a big balcony and view over the pool area and river. The room was very clean and neat. breakfast at the on-site restaurant was delicious and staff were friendly. (the only minus... the coffee was not hot).
Another great thing is that all the activities (canoeing on the river, hiking, mashie golf, etc are included in your room fee!
We would definitely visit again!!

From the warmest welcome from our host Elmay and all the friendly helpful staff members to a sad goodbye leaving this amazing lodge. The facilities and the gardens at the lodge were amazing and there are so many adventurous activities to enjoy as a family together. The kids loved the night walk and the yummy hot chocolate, canoeing and the mashy course. We did a succulent workshop as a family and it was great fun. We would recommend the lodge to any couple who would like to relax and enjoy a glass of wine at the boma or family who loves the outdoors.Thanks to everyone at Blackwaters for making our family getaway a memorable one. We can't wait for our next visit.

We were a group of eight employees staying at Blackwaters River Lodge while working on the annual Simola Hillclimb, and I truly can’t recommend it highly enough. The team went above and beyond to accommodate every request and change, always with genuine warmth and friendliness. The lodge is stunning, with every amenity you could possibly need. The on-site restaurant served delicious meals and even prepared lunch packs for us on the days we couldn’t make it to breakfast. Elmay and her team deserve nothing less than a 10-star rating.

We booked the venue for a wedding weekend over Easter. We couldn't have asked for more. Enough activities to keep everyone happy while still having tranquility for the ones that want to rest. Awesome beds, great food. We didn't have a single complaint from any one of the guests all weekend. Thank you!

Wow absolutely breathtaking beautiful venue with amazing rooms and Elmay and her staff is awesome Nihle helping in the reception and the young crowd on the activites! Mashie golf if your a novice or a pro it is so much fun, then if you just want to drink in the tranquility take a canoe and go for a paddle and just enjoy the abundance!! Will i go again absolutly!! Should you go? You would miss out on a expierience stay more than one day though or you will regret it

From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had stepped into a different world. The grounds are stunning, with rolling green lawns, vibrant gardens, and towering trees that create a sense of privacy and calm. The river, meandering quietly past the lodge, adds to the tranquil atmosphere and is perfect for those moments when you just want to sit back and breathe it all in. Every detail has been carefully considered, from the plush bedding to the little touches that make you feel right at home. Blackwaters River Lodge is more than just a place to stay—it’s a destination that stays with you long after you leave.

What a fantastic relaxing weekend. We enjoyed walking, canoeing and just sitting on picnic blankets by the river sipping champagne. We also had a lovely couples massage. All the staff were attentive, friendly and always available if you needed anything. We will definitely be back

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights here and everything was very enjoyable, very kind hosts and staff, including at the restaurant. On top of that, we were offered a free upgrade. Above all, the location is fantastic, in plain nature by the Goukama river and very close to the astonishing Buffels Bay beach. Highly recommended!

Thank you to the amazing Black Waters River Lodge staff who made our year end function better than we could ever have imagined. Stunning venue, but the willingness of the staff to help and go above and beyond was the exceptional part of the day. Loads of activities, great food, friendly staff, beautiful views.
