D.R. Lanta Bay Resort

Charming beach resort with clean rooms and charming villas. The grounds have lovely landscaping. The resort's situation on the beach is perfect. You can easily stroll the beach or visit one of the many bars and restaurants. The breakfast buffet was quite good and overall, the service here was excellent.

Just started our last day here on DR Lanta. Been staying here for 6 nights. Our 4th stay in Koh Lanta and first stay on DR Lanta. We’re staying in a family bungalow. Right next to one of two swimming pools. The location of our room is perfect(Room F2). There is a pool further back on this property but there is no shade from neither vegetation of umbrellas there. So usually plenty of sun chairs available there. This brings me why we will probably not return to DR Lanta again. It’s now 6 am in the morning. This is how early you’ll need to get up if you want to have a sun chair. At 6.30-6.45 they are all gone. Except for those at the pool further back with no shade. I would strongly suggest that the hotel made some sort of policy with these sunbeds. Either have a sufficient number of beds, or have staff simply remove towels put on beds before a certain time in the morning. If they are not in use of course. This is the high season, but I still think the hotel should be equipped accordingly. Aside from that, there really isn’t much negative to say about this hotel. The hotel is literally on the beach. From pool to beach there’s 20 meter. Nice beach. Kids friendly and seas are calm. Our room has a double bed and two beds for the kids in a separate room. No doors between the rooms. AC is not too noise, and able to keep the room cooled. In the kids room there is a fan to help the cool air circulate. No AC in the bathroom. There are two small windows with mesh on either side of the bathroom which did enough to keep it reasonable being out there😀. Staff is very service minded. Haven’t had any issues at all. So, if you don’t mind getting early up in the morning to get a subbed, don’t hesitate to try this hotel. Ask for a room close to the beach. Enjoy

Resort manager is the most friendly and responsive. I have shortlisted a few but he is the one who responded fastest and prompt, with helpful advices! We have arranged airport transfers and day trip tour with the hotel. Hotel staffs especially reception lady is very friendly and welcoming, set a lovely mood for the stay! We went in mid Nov and not sure whether this is high season already but hotel not full, enjoyed peaceful and quiet surrounding, suited us as we wished to be far from party & clubbing area. Has booked the premier junior suite, the room seemed quite new, we got the room near to pool. Hotel has 2 pools, surrounding is serene and neat, can see the resort take effort to upkeep the surrounding for the visitors. Hotel has a minimart well stocked neatly. Walking distance ard 7-10min to nearest 7-eleven, pharmacy and area with several eating places. Location is great as is just right on the beachfront, the hotel restaurant is right on the beach so we have our daily breakfast right by the lovely beach. Breakfast spread has variety for the different days we stay, with both local & western selections. Price very reasonable for the room type and services provided! Overall is a lovely stay!

The location it’s perfect in Koh Lanta , stuff very nice but it’s a very outdated hotel. The beach chairs are dirty, the towels very old and ripped. Breakfast ok but not wow. The windows at some of the bungalows don’t have a full glass. Are build like blinds from glass. You can hear everything from outside, every move and the neighbors coughing. We didn’t pay attention when we booked. First time happened to us. The plates and forks not the cleanest. And some contractions noise during the day bc they are remodeling some villas.
