The Secret Garden Homestay Koh yao yai
5/53 Reviews
We spent a few fantastic days at Secret Garden Homestay and we can fully recommend this place! Everything was at the highest level – from the wonderful atmosphere, through comfortable accommodation, to the hospitality of the hosts. The hotel is located in a quiet green area, which makes you really relax and feel the island's climate. The rooms are clean, spacious and very climate-friendly, and the proximity of the forest adds this unique charm to the place. The biggest assets of Secret Garden Homestay are, however, – hosts hearty, helpful and always smiley. They were happy to advise us what was worth seeing at Koh Yao Yai, helped in the transportation organization and made sure that we didn't miss anything. This is a place with the soul we would love to return to. If you are looking for a quiet corner in the surrounding nature, Secret Garden Homestay is the perfect choice!

Overall a good stay. Feels like it’s one of the best on the island. If you’re looking for a really quiet town with lots of sun and relaxation, this is it. Resort food leaves something to be desired. There is much better (and cheaper) food up the road within a few steps. Cleanliness is on par with the what I’ve seen elsewhere in Thailand. Would go back!

amazing place combining everything that is best on the island, lots of nature which is everywhere. Beautiful large houses with an amazing view of the pool and the sea. I recommend it to everyone who wants to relax in an extraordinary quiet place, we will definitely come back there
Elixir Resort Koh YAO Yai

The hotel is on the island. You need to take a boat to the pier at your own expense and then take a taxi to the island. It is a small single-family house. The hotel staff are very polite and friendly. The beach is just 10 to 20 meters in front of the house. Although it is May Day, there are almost no people. It is a very quiet place. There are European and American tourists. I have not seen a Chinese person in the seven days I stayed. It is a good place to escape from the world and lie down.
Thiwson Beach Resort

Our bungalow was very cozy, secluded but still close to everything. A good starting point if you want to explore the island, the island itself is very simple and local but there are gems. The island is perfect for relaxation and tranquility, there is a very limited range of things to do. The service among the staff was okay, but on the other hand the service with transfers to the airport and out to the islands was incredibly good and punctual. The breakfast was excellent, it was appreciated that you could choose the preparation of your egg every morning. In our bungalow we had problems with cleaning because of some small animal that got in and pooped during the nights. Luckily we got cleaning every day. The beach by the hotel is not pleasant to swim from, a bit difficult to find lovely beaches on the island because it was a bit rubbish. The pool was great though! Affordable!

This is clearly a 5+ star hotel, amazing facility and location. Except for the food in their Buffet, which is jilust ”ok” , all the rest is above and beyond one could expect. We've stayed at their lower cost, non-private pool room, which was very nice, big comfi and with great view to the sea. We defiantly will try to be back to it one day..
