Housekeeping in the room was not up to the mark and we were quite disappointed. Shower Gel and Tissue were not replaced and the shower area got clogged … despite complaining it wasn’t fixed.
The Tea Pods were not replenished in the Mini Bar.
In general housekeeping in room was not up to Taj standards we have been used to !

We had a lovely time dining at Pepper in Taj Malabar. Right from the entrance, we were greeted with a warm smile which made us feel very comfortable. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. I especially want to mention Ajith, who really made our evening special. He patiently suggested dishes, checked our preferences, and even helped customize a few items so they suited our taste. We also enjoyed chatting with him about the history of the property and what’s new at the hotel — something we didn’t expect but really appreciated. Towards the end, the team also offered to take us outside for a few photos, which was a sweet touch and made our visit feel more memorable. Overall, we truly enjoyed the food, the place, and the hospitality. Would happily visit again!

The Taj Malabar is uniquely located in kochi There are no other than peace allowed and lots of small and big boats moving The rooms are nicely oriented so everyone can see the sea from their room

This was our fifth time in Kochi. Our last stay was at the Gateway Hotel Marine Drive, and this time, we chose Taj Malabar. I'm leaving with mixed feelings about the property, and here's why. Pros: lovely location on Willingdon Island, steeped in history, surrounded by water and greenery. Courteous staff, ready to serve with a smile. Ajesh did an excellent job taking care of our breakfast needs. Alex at the restaurant was super helpful, and Chef Subin Cheriyan made sure that our food was prepared with just the right spice level. He was also responsible for one of the best Chinese meals I've had in recent times. Finally, Cindrella and Elizabeth did their best to make our stay comfortable. The sunset cruise and spicy chocolates were delightful. Cons: We were there Saturday through Tuesday, but the newspapers weren't changed at all since Saturday. Why offer then in the first place if you are not going to do so on a daily basis? The beautiful white balcony needs to be cleaned regularly because of the mess made every day by crows. Over four days it changed from a gorgeous space to dirty and quite uninviting. The turndown service was offered only once, on the day we encountered a problem with the shower. Shouldn't it be a daily thing and not just to make us feel better after an unfortunate incident? Finally, the staff needs to be better trained; most of them are terrible at communications. I'm all for nurturing local talent, but when it's a property as celebrated as Taj Malabar, expectations are naturally high. Perhaps the best memories I'm taking back with me are the dining experiences. The food has been consistently good. Kudos to the F&B Team.

In my opinion,Kerala’s best five-star hotel is definitely the Taj Malabar in Kochi. The service here is outstanding, especially thanks to the warmth and professionalism of staff like Amaldev, who makes every guest feel special. The property is beautifully maintained, with an ambience that combines luxury and comfort perfectly. Its location by the waterfront adds to the charm, giving you stunning views and a serene atmosphere. The food is exceptional, offering both authentic Kerala flavors and international cuisine. Overall, Taj Malabar sets the benchmark for world-class hospitality in Kerala.Our wedding anniversary celebrated there.

There is nothing like the Taj Malabar. The staff, the the sweeping views it offers, and the memories it holds for me. 27 years ago I bid adieu to Cochin from the very doors at Malabar that I walked into 27 years later, greeted by Elizabeth who introduced the Taj Malabar and it's offings to us and I listened for the first time :-). She went on to show us to our room however we gave the performances a skip being old Kerala hands, so can't comment on that offering. However it was good to have meet a couple of old hands at the bar from back in the day too. For me the new layout of the outdoor spaces capitalise on its million dollar location. The rooms upgrades I loved, esp the down pillows. Thanks for the hospitality as always.
