Family run business (Bas and his mother are lovely people and surprised my wife on her birthday!) that really cares about the customer and the quality they receive. Stayed in the Chaba bungalow and the coziest we experienced in our travels in Thailand. Semi private beach with free use of kayaks and paddle boards. Waters calm and nice for swimming, the pool equally so. Most northern part of the island making a tranquil island into even more of one. Getting a scooter is highly recommended for moving around the island.

We had a spectacular visit to Ko Pu because of our accommodations at Banyan Bay Villas. Our villa was the large one with 2 beds and 2 baths and it was clean and cool. We especially loved the deck with comfy recline chairs. The staff was extremely accommodating and the food was 10/10. This is a traditional, rustic setting right on the sea. We rented scooters and explored the island. We began our trip in Tokyo then on to 2 weeks all over Vietnam and ended at Ko Pu which was, by far, our favorite part of the nearly month long vacation.

A dream, a small complex with lots of charm. We were only there for three days and felt at home. The staff are very friendly and courteous. Like the view, the food is a dream, we would have loved to order the whole menu. Can only recommend it. We will be back

Unfortunately this place is a one star rating. When we arrived the staff looked puzzled to see us. We were ushered to our room only to find that there were dirty dishes in the bathroom sink, there were ants everywhere (even in the sheets which looked like they hadn't been washed) and the door to our room wouldn't even lock. The pool was not functional (very gross) and the upstairs restaurant had ants running all over the tables. If you like peace and quiet, that it was, but no effort in cleanliness whatsoever. The water is very, very rocky so be careful.

Villa badly maintained. For 5 days the water leaked out onto floor in the bathroom leaving us to stand in water when using it. Breakfast offering limited and not what you expect when paying top dollar as you can chose 1 item from breakfast menu. Pool area not user friendly as on many levels with no decent access and seating areas never cleaned. Pool bar bell didn't exist and no service. If you needed something you had to mount some steep steps to reception with no real railing. Resort not for guests with mobility issues.

A very special place with very special people. Banyan bay villas was just so lovely with the most lovely staff and owner. The food was fabulous - made and presented with such love and care. The villa was very spacious and the view and sound of the sea and the jungle amazing to wake up to. We feel very lucky have experienced this place. We hired a moped and explored the island which was really easy and great fun. We met some locally local people and enjoyed watching the monkeys. We also went on a four islands tour and even swam with sharks thanks to our great guide and driver. A special mention to Jack and his wife who looked after us so well and also Kitima the owner who is fabulous. If you want relaxation, kind service and a real experience of local life then do consider Banyan Bay- there is a very good reason for the good reviews.

We spent 2 nights in this hotel. Warm welcome The rooms are typical on stilts. The comfort is simple but sufficient for 2 nights while visiting the island. The food is very good and the staff is very attentive. A special thank you to Kwan who prepared a table for us to dine on the sand by the fire at the last minute. The rooms are very clean with mosquito nets. Scooter rental possible. For people who have mobility problems it is better to avoid because the hotel is steep.
