Popular Koh Samui 4-star Hotels

Away from the hustle of central Chaweng, so is a good spot to be based for quiet times and used as a base to explore the island. Beachfront pool villas are nice, large and great views of the ocean. Private pool is a bonus and well worth the upgrade. Hotel was busy when I stayed and everyone seemed to be happy and enjoying themselves. The pool isn’t the largest but plentiful for the amount of rooms. Don’t forget, there are the villas with private pools, so a fair number of guests will be in their own area. Access to the beach is not directly in front of the hotel, but that’s a good thing otherwise I would be hearing everyone in front of my villa each day. Access is the side of the resort just past the restaurant. Along this stretch of beach has a few other hotel bars and restaurants to eat and drink in and if you head to the furtherest headland point, and head inland, you will come across a handful of bars and restaurants. As many people have said, the hotel is next to a road - but like most hotels in Samui, it’s just the design of the island. You can avoid the main road for your walk to the local area by going along the stretch of beach. And when you are on the island, why wouldn’t you want to walk along the beach?! So don’t listen to those comments about nothing nearby. If you want the hustle of the nightlife, Chaweng central is 15 minutes away. Get on the shuttle or order a taxi for 300thb. It’s a 4 star hotel, trying to get back to some kind of normal after covid and over time, I am sure the owners will reinvest their money to make improvements where some other guests have commented about in other posts but I do think it is dependent on the room type you book and/or are assigned as most of them are fine. Give it a go, it is worth it. I’ve been to many hotels over the years - more than the average Joe - and it’s only recently where I’ve checked in and out of two hotels on the same day in all these years.

This is my first time here at Casa de mar Kho-Samui and we were not expecting a lot when coming to this hotel. And it turns out to be a fantastic hotel with very helpful and service minded staff, especially Aor, who is warmly taking care of us since we arrived and she is excellent in hospitality and service. We had a private dinner for my birthday, and it was so romantic with the special set up combine with the great quality food. Thank you to Aor and all staff for making my trip and my memory beautiful.

Recently stayed at this hotel for 1 week, arrived from the Airport with no luggage as Bangkok airways lost it, checked in to the hotel and was met by a lovely member of staff who was waiting for me, she offered me a welcome drink on arrival which was very much appreciated after a long flight. After check in, was shown to my room which was a pool side deluxe room with Double bed and En-suite. Room was very clean, spacious and came with Fresh towels, Toiletries, a Mini fridge stocked with beers, satellite T.V, Aircon and some free drinks/snacks. My stay came with free breakfast every morning, which was very handy and the selection was always really nice. Lots of fresh fruit, cereals, pastries, eggs cooked to the way you wanted along with a choice of tea/coffee and fresh juices. Staff are soo friendly and welcoming, they clean your room everyday and provide fresh sheets and towels as well as toiletries. The Hotel is quite modern and staff had decorated the reception for Chinese New Year with lanterns and fairy lights. The position of the hotel is good, about 10 min drive in a taxi to Fisherman's village, which is full of bars/restaurants and shops. The hotel is also right on the beach, so you have the option to swim in the sea or the pool and look out onto the amazing views. I loved my stay at this hotel and would highly recommend! (Only negative thing I can think of is that the Pool Bar was never open, so it would be good to see this open in the future).

Stayed here for 1 week at the end of March 2023, it was generally an ok stay, we had a beach villa with a pool which really was, in our opinion worth the upgrade. It’s an aging resort that really could do with a makeover, things have moved on. Chaweng Noi is a little out-of-the way and from the resort location it’s difficult to walk to anything, though you can, the road it’s on is busy and of course the heat is against you. Easy enough to jump the songthaew taxi vans that pass down to Chaweng or anywhere in-between for a miserly 50bht per person (a taxi is just 200bht) – just flag and get on the vans, give the driver the money when you get-off pressing the buzzer to stop the van, no need to bargain. We used these all the time. Our villa was good, cheerfully cleaned every day.. couldn’t help but feel the maids were rushed to get in and out quickly there were an number of things which needed more attention to detail – cleaning the windows, pool chairs, shower glass….. the hotel directory in the room looked like it had been pawed for the last few years. Air conditioning was ferocious and much welcomed. There’s a lovely shaded Sala in the villa but with no cushions or mats to make them useable or luxurious. Dirty sun loungers could be easily cleaned. The fitness room was a disappointment, small with dumbbells, mini multi gym and 1 running treadmill. Needs a bigger venue and some cardio machines. The food was just ok, nothing more. Breakfast was low level with some ok things, we didn’t look forward to going for lunch either, limited menu and style of food, shortages of fish, “no chicken today sir” for 2 days… really?…the cocktails we tried were depressing…..however the food kept us alive and the staff always tried. The cats in the restaurant were impeccably behaved while we were there. The Wi-Fi worked but we hated the requirement to log back on every 30 minutes. We only really asked them to do one thing on our stay, to collect our bags early on departure so we could grab breakfast before our flight, despite booking this no-one showed, we called.. ok no problem – still no show.. reception – no answer. We ended up wheeling our bags from the furthest away room up the considerable hill to reception. It’s a poor operation that can’t get something this basic right. On the plus side, the maid spotted it was my birthday and turned-up with a cake and birthday wishes – lovely

I really liked the hotel itself. Green area, everything is clean, cool pool, it’s clear that they are trying to provide maximum service for guests. Red fish for breakfast, glass bottled water, welcome juice, and many other little things. We visited several beaches on Koh Samui - this beach is the best we have seen. Yes, there is low tide, you can swim until lunch, after that it’s a bit shallow. From 8 to 14 seems to me quite enough time to swim. The water is the clearest we have seen on Koh Samui. No algae, no stones, overall great. Only Koh Samui has sunsets on this side. The staff is very friendly. The only negative is the location. There are very few tourists in the hotel and nearby. There is practically nothing within walking distance. You need to ride 20 minutes by bike or taxi to the nearest town. Bike 300 baht per day

We stayed here for 6 nights. in January 2023. Staff were friendly, respectful, accommodating & wanted to make our stay wonderful. Special thanks to a lady who ensured our room was really special and cleaned. The room was great and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was awesome and an old man was there, paying attention to all the guests. The hotel in ideally located right on a road opposite of Chaweng Noi beach that is very quiet and amazing place to suntan and relax. A seven eleven is near by the Hotel just 10 min walk. it is 100 Baht to take into the town center by tuk tuk. We rent a motorbike from the hotel which was brand new and we did not need to pay for a taxi anymore. The hotel restaurant offers a variety of foods & overlooks a nice pool with lovely setting. I would definitely come back here & would recommend it without hesitation. Thank you Chaweng Noi Pool Villa for an amazing holiday.

My husband and I stayed at Rockys for 7 nights on October...we had the best experience. The resort is beautiful and the staff so obliging and friendly. We had a few meals in the restaurant and the daily breakfast - the food was amazing and of such a high quality. We enjoyed a complimentary cocktail evening and a fire show. Our unit had everything we could desire - comfortable bed and large bathroom. The pools were both great and the beach was beautiful and the ocean good to swim in - we also used the kayak and there are paddleboards and sand shoes available to use. Arianna the front Manager was so helpful. We would highly recommend.

The fact that we were in Banana Fan Sea Resort for the 16th time this year speaks for itself and actually tells everything. The hotel is located in the south part of Chaweng Beach, the most beautiful section for us. Fine, white sand, flat falling. Unlike the north, you can swim well and bath at any time, because this beach area is not affected by a pre-stage riff or by strong time effects. The plant itself is covered by the great atmosphere of the green tropical garden facility, in which the bungalows and two-stage residential units are distributed. We always have one of the beautiful Deluxe Garden Bungalows, which is strictly suitable for us with 2 people. The facilities are modern and it is all you need, including beach bag, flip flops, bathman, water cooker, coffee, tea, etc. To pool and beach it is just a cat jump. The resort has a superb infinity pool with pool bar. A cocktail and look at the sea here. At breakfast you can sit with beautiful views of the sea at the open air Baitong restaurant. Breakfast offers fresh egg food, hot Asian dishes and soups, various bread varieties, sauce, cheese, marmelade, nutella, corn syrup, pancakes, fresh waffles, baked beans, salads, bacon, sauce, baked beans, Fresh fruit, coffee specialities at your request, etc. The staff is unique! Whether management, front office, restaurant/bar, cleaning staff, gardener, driver, etc. - all are extremely lovely, helpful, engaged, professional and everything always with a smile or a little fun. Guest service is written here large. Many of us have known for years and we are very looking forward to seeing next year! We can only recommend the hotel without reservations. Had an amazing stay at the Bandara resort. We had room 146 which was great and the gardens were Beautiful!! Special shout out to Kitti , who is a fantastic host and made our stay extra special!! A lovely house keeper for our first week who worked very hard to make our room look amazing and smell Devine when came back after a day out. And Faye/kaye sorry I’m not 100% at breakfast she was lovely too. Special staff deserve a special mention!! We will definitely return! Great location to walk to fisherman’s village for great restaurants x 😀

We loved this resort 🥰, the room was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the pillows so soft. The pool was immaculate, the beach perfect and we were in the middle of everything while being quiet and peaceful inside the hotel. The breakfast was quite good too!!! Will definitely come back!!!
