2-Star Hotels in Kokomo

This place was good for an evening or for workers as the place was full of temporary workers and a few long term stayers completing gigs in the area. There were several small grills in use in the parking lot and motorcycles on parking pads for weekend rides. The downside is that the door to the room had a large gap underneath so I could hear anyone walking by, and the room shower head had to be held by hand. Additionally there was a sign saying sheet and towel services would not occur on Saturday night or Monday night. There was a fridge in the room, and on-site laundry services and an ice machine nearby.

Although it is a bit old, the service is good.

I was on a solo road trip in March 2023 from my home in Michigan to Alabama and decided to spend a night at this Motel 6. When I was searching places in Kokomo to stay at, I decided to go with this Motel 6 because all I was doing, essentially, was sleeping and showering. I didn't need anything fancy and didn't need to spend a lot on the room. I arrived around 10 p.m. on a Tuesday night. My check-in process was okay, but I had to check in using the window in the vestibule rather than the full lobby (even though I thought I had arrived before the lobby was locked for the night). The woman checking me in was friendly, but she admitted that she was a newer employee and was not fully confident in all the check-in procedures. After a few minutes, though, she got me checked in okay. I was pleasantly surprised that this Motel 6 had interior hallways, but the property just had a creepy vibe to it. The interior hallway had an unpleasant smell and the place just seemed run-down in general. (They say you get what you pay for, and that was definitely the case here.) The room was clean enough but not great, but the one thing I was pleased with was how large the room was. I didn't feel claustrophobic like I've felt in Motel 6 rooms in the past... so that was good. Also, I slept okay for the night... so I can't complain about that. In the morning after I showered, I just wanted to leave... so I checked out and was gone by 6:30 a.m.

This location is behind a Cracker Barrel and a short walk to a gas station. Additionally it has a working indoor pool. There is a lawn area behind the building for smokers and pets. I went on a few evening walks and noted that the area is rather peaceful at night. As this was a mobility room, the bathroom was enormous with an assist bench, and the bathtub was incredibly deep which was rare for someone taller like me. The room is also close to the lobby. The major downside is that the room had previously been wet, so there was a stronger smell pertaining to that and the carpet was damp. In addition the carpet needs shampooing, as my feet became quite dirty on it after a time.

It's in a good position in Kokomo. The hotel facilities seem to be old. When I first went into the room, it smelled bad. It was good to be able to open the window and ventilate it. One day, there was no hot water in the evening, and there was no hot water until morning, so I went to work without washing. The internet was slow on weekends, so it took me a long time to do something urgent.

Nice, clean room, but had asked for handicap accessible. Bathroom small, toilet low, door not wide enough for a wheelchair. (I use a cane, so it was okay.) Clerk stated they've been getting a lot of mixups when booked on line. I personally have never had a mixup before through Choice Hotels. Pool was closed with no reason given.

The entire hotel was nice and clean, staff was great, and the pool was clean. The free breakfast was excellent and had a very wide choice of items. Fresh fruit, juices, coffee, cereal, eggs, sausage, self made waffles, oatmeal, bagels, toast, donuts, pastries,and then some. The only downside was the water pressure was extremely low in the shower.
