I wouldn’t wish a stay at Miarosa Konakli Garden Hotel on my worst enemy. My friends and I booked a 5-day all-inclusive holiday from October 2nd, expecting a relaxing break at what was advertised as a 4-star hotel. What we got instead was a nightmare. I can’t believe this hotel is even being advertised to British tourists, let alone rated 4 stars. When we initially booked with Love Holidays we checked the pictures and even went as far as checking reviews on here so we thought we was in safe hands but we was wrong! Right after booking, things started to go downhill. In February, we got a message from Freebird Airlines saying our return flight on October 7th had changed from 2 PM to 10 AM. This meant we’d lose a good part of our last day and basically have only 4 full days. Not ideal. Then, when we tried to check in online, we were hit with a £20 seating fee – seriously?! We had assumed seats would be included in the package. When we called the airline, they confirmed we HAD to pay for seats, which left us wondering, what exactly had we paid for in this package? After we landed in Antalya around 10:45pm we got in our transit at 11:30pm and we headed to our hotel. After the first hour on the coach we were all bewildered with the length of time we had been on the road. The driver randomly stopped at a service station – which was just a money grab for the locals. At this point we have been travelling since 4:20pm UK time and it is now after 1am turkey time. The driver told us we have 15 mins to get food and use the rest room but we can’t bring food back on the coach. Soon after we witnessed the driver trying to leave without us, luckily one of my friends was on the coach and asked him not to leave. Once we were back on the road the driver had the cheek to tell 2 young girls to shut up while he was eating an ice cream. After a couple more hours we finally arrived at our hotel and we were greeted by the most underwhelming welcome by their 1 man receptionist who had no details on his computer of our booking and requested we show him proof on our phones. We asked for the WiFi and we were told we can only have free WiFi in the lobby and if we want it in our rooms we have to pay €3 per day per one device. Obviously this was a major inconvenience as all 4 of our networks is not free in Turkey and we were not aware of this as it stated free WiFi in the hotel. This was clearly a way of getting more money out of the 4 of us. We finally showed evidence of our booking, got our room keys and headed to our room. When we got to our room what we faced knocked the wind out of our bodies. Mouldy dirty carpet, the room had stains all on the walls and ceiling, bed sheets were stained of god knows what, curtains were ripped. The bathroom room was so old fashioned and had mould all over the grouting and bathtub, no working TV and did not have a phone. At this point it was 3:45am we had been travelling for 12 hours so we decided to go to sleep and speak with hotel staf
