Brennia Kottefaru Maldives

Lovely holiday! Get ready for a long review, hope someone finds it helpful! We flew to male direct from london Heathrow which was 10 hours on the way there and 11 on the way back. As soon as we landed into male our cases were ready and when we walked through someone was holding up a sign saying Brennia kotafaru on who took us straight to the desk to get our bags weighed for the sea plane. We then had to go in a short bus journey to the sea plane (about 5 mins) . I read online the luggage and hand luggage per person should weigh 25kg in total (mine was more but I wasn’t charged. I think I was over by about 4kg ) 40 mins sea plane from male and you are there. On arrival at 11am luckily our room was ready straight away and we were taken there on a golf buggy. Our luggage was then delivered to our room shortly after. We stayed in a private pool on the beach room 126. The Room is spacious. The bed is a super king size and comfy. English plug sockets Coat hangers Good air conditioning which doesn’t turn off when you open a door. Shower pressure could be better but it’s alright. TV- we managed to log into Netflix (we upgraded our Netflix temporarily to the one without adverts as it doesn’t support this abroad). We watched it and the WiFi meant it did buffer a few times but wasn’t too bad. We had a problem with our fridge getting cold which was a problem because I took mounjaro injection with me that needs to be kept in the fridge. We asked for this to be looked at and they sorted this out quickly. The drinks in the mini fridge are free and re stocked daily. But if you request and more or something that’s not in the fridge it is chargeable. I was disappointed as I drink Diet Coke and there was no diet drinks at all in the fridge but when we saw the cleaner he said he would call daily and request diet cokes for us instead of the other drinks. He was very helpful and friendly and we didn’t have to pay for this. The room is cleaned daily with fresh beach and bathroom towels. Someone comes at least twice a day to check the room and make sure you don’t need anything. The room has a pool and is very private (bushes out the front) so you don’t have a sea view, but it’s nice and private) there’s a little passage way to the beach through the bush. The bathroom is hot as it’s a semi outdoor bathroom (I find this a lot in the Maldives they seem to have no air con) there’s 2 showers and a toilet and 2 sinks. Had giant ants after the rain but only for 1 day. Our first bathroom had the hairdryer in the bathroom where there’s no air conditioning. But the second room we stayed in , it was in the room with air conditioning. Very spacious bathroom. The food is buffet style and waiters serve you your drinks. The food is ok, at breakfast they make fresh pancakes, have an egg station where someone cooks you fresh eggs. Fruit station where someone cuts your fruit for you. All hot food and cold. Lots of variety. At lunch usually fresh pizzas in their pizza

We booked as part of a deal with Voyage Privie. Price paid was fair for package we received. I am writing long review to help others as I feel my review is very honest and real and will help you decide if this hotel is for you . Positives: Food - pleasantly surprised very good for a buffet. Fresh and lots of choice not repetitive and tastes lovely. Liked the themed nights very good. Cooking stations are good and salad bar. Staff in buffet area and in bar area are lovely very friendly and great service. Cleaning of room- staff clean 2x a day and work hard. Very friendly and very hard working. Great manners. Resort cleanliness- great overall staff cleaning beach at sunrise and in general all staff friendly and hard working to maintain property. Drinks; fair for price nice and milkshakes and juices taste good. Cocktails were ok and only negative Calsberg lager I would have liked more choices in beer/larger in all inclusive package. Over water villa: stayed room 511 although villas on this side of sea have a sand bed that is coral and rock we loved this as on reef side so more fish and we even spotted dolphins from our room, the other side there is a sand bed perfect for walking on but not much marine life so we preferred a slightly more rough sea, sea bed and choppy sea for for marine life. You can swim in it fine and safely. Take water shoes to this island 100 percent. Also in terms of room cleaner done excellent job however room has signs of wear and tear and needs some TLC however again price paid for fair for over water villa you can overlook cosmetics like paint work needing a touch up etc, Sea plane : was well organised little waiting around and very good overall highly recommend. Manager even seen us off last day which is a lovely way of letting guests know you are worth his time and effort and he cared. Entertainment; we liked it it was enough but we are not big night life people. Singer was good each evening and fire show was good. I would say karaoke and Miss Maldives need to be reassessed as not really seemed what people seemed to want. With some tweaking I think they could have a great entertainment package but it’s not quite there yet. Maybe need to improve somewhat to tailor it to everyone. Add more variety or more per night maybe ? However we are happy with the paid of the ocean and some back ground music Island space and activities : good our first 5-6 days from 8 island had less people and was perfect after this it got busier but was still fine however I would defo choose a less busy time as adds to the relaxing experience of being on an island. Dolphins trip and floating breakfast both good that were included Talking to staff via WhatsApp makes experience very easy and good quick reply’s. If you like social media or imstagram pics you will get some awesome ones on this island sunsets are amazing and ocean is fantastic blue . Beautiful resort - everything you would expect on a Maldives holiday. Friendly staff, food was plentiful and nice. Entire island is clean and safe. The only exception to our trip being perfect was that, to our surprise, there was no nightlife experience. Other than the fire demonstration night there was nothing of merit during the evenings. Some of the “entertainment” was actually fairly descrimatory towards woman with a “miss maldives” night which was awful to witness. A good DJ and a dance floor would have been perfect but there was nothing at all. No music near the main pool during the day and not even a hint of a party environment in the evenings. Other than that it was a beautiful stay in our over the water pool villa for 5 nights.

We are very basic working couple who decided to take a trip of a lifetime to celebrate my husbands retirement and his 70th birthday. We really chose the best. The hotel is beautiful, clean and run so efficiently you want for nothing. The view from our oversea villa with pool was breathtaking. The amount of different fishes going under our villa was spectacular. Shoals of fish, jumping fish, pipe fish, so many varieties but huge excitement to watch sharks go by. We both lost hours just looking and loving the huge variety, never knowing what we'd see next. I could write a book for my review because there were so many highlights. I won't because I can only recommend you go and live the experience. The highlight of our trip was the staff. We were one of a few people who stayed for 3 weeks. We got to know the people who looked after us so well. The send off they gave us made me cry, decorated restaurant table with lots of flowers done by Roopah for "Momma and Papa", the bar staff all wanting pictures with us and so many hugs, even given a gift by our buggy expert and walked in person to the plane so we could get pictures together. I could ramble on forever. If you want peace and quiet to unwind and relax this is for you. The food was plentiful and changed daily so still not bored after 3 weeks. Tips, take sea shoes, if you have mobility issues a buggy will be there to take you to and from the villa at any time free of charge, beach towels are always in the reception, take a hand fan as it gets very warm in the restaurant,we got mossie bites but only towards the end of the holiday, take time to sit look and listen and soak up how good everything feels. My boyfriend and I had a really wonderful time at Brennia Kottefaru. We were unsure about whether to book for 2 weeks as we had heard a lot of people say they got bored and a week was enough for them. But in all honestly 2 weeks were not enough for us! We just loved how peaceful it was. Apparently there were only 90 people on the island and we saw far less than that each day. It felt more like there were only around 20-30 people on the island and the majority of them were only seen in the dinning hall. The Room: We stayed in an overwater villa and that was a super unique experience. Looking at the sea when you wake up and hearing the waves beneath you was so crazy but amazing. It rained a few times but we didn’t care. It actually became a bit of a joke (funny and ridiculous) as the bathroom is exposed to the outside so rain flooded the space many times and we had to wade through a few inches of water to use the toilet through the night funny experience. They cleaned it swiftly though and you couldn’t tell it was ever wet! The beach’s were soft white sand and there were many times we were alone there, which was insane! The tranquility and beauty of the place made it so unique. We wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of our day to day lives and Brennia delivered exactly what we wanted and needed. The staff were a big part in the experience and made our stay special. The servers were very attentive and remembered us and even went out of their way to give us a unique experience. ❤️ Shout out to: Kanhayia who worked the Naan station and made all the delicious curries. and to Shatow and Sashika on the fruit station thank you for making our time special. Also shout out to Shanma, Winter and Hassan lovely servers in the dining hall Nayeem, Reteesh, Nesheet, Tu tu Han and Paing zu ahn - really nice friendly waiters in the bar Food and Drink: We loved the food, and that it changed each day. We preferred to have the authentic Maldivian food rather than the alternative more western food they provided as of course we can have that any time. The drinks were good (I love a decent cocktail) Some of their cocktails may have been a little too sweet for me, but the bar staff are willing and able to adjust and accommodate your taste. The coffee is pretty gross though, ha. Activities: Having access to some free water sports was great. We also loved the fact they have a football pitch where the staff can enjoy themselves every night. What was even better is they often invited holiday makers to join them. The games room was fun and we often found ourselves alone there The sunset excursion was lovely (just us and another couple) we picked a good day to go We didn’t do any others but enjoyed doing lots of snorkelling by ourselves as there are so many coral reefs and lots of great marine life (if you know where to look and when) it’s amazing! All in all, I would definitely recommend this island and we would definitely return. It’s not for everyon

We were first time in Maldives. We chosed Brennia and did not regret at all. Fantastic 2 weeks. Very kind staff, always ready to help. Especially we would like to thank Shashika, Winta and Jowel from Lime restaurant, those 3 amazing people made our stay here very comfortable and unforgettable (I really hope that Brennia managers will read this and praise them) The food was superb always with a wide choice. Great cocktails. Room cleaning every day. Great weather, warm and clean ocean with outstanding blue water. Thank You Brennia! We would like to come back!
