The service is very good yyds. There are morning classes in the morning and bathing in the evening. Shojin cuisine is excellent. The library is also very good. The courtyard outside the library is also very beautiful at night. I hope to stay here next time I come to Koyasan👍🏻

My first time at Shukubo, Fudoin was a very good experience. Fudo-in was built in 906 to enshrine King Fudo Myoto. Emperor Toba and Empress Toba of the Heian period are buried here. Currently there are 14 rooms, 3 room types, 4 without bathroom, 8 with bathroom, and 2 with both bathroom. This time I stayed in a room with a bathroom. The room was comfortable and clean. The public bathroom experience is also very good. The breakfast and dinner were very good. They were in a beautiful and elegant room. The dining location and meals were arranged in advance, and the waiters would come to the room to guide them. Many shukubo in Koyasan are facing the street. This hospital is not facing the street. The breakfast and dinner of Shojin cuisine are very sumptuous. In the morning class, the master will lead the chanting of sutras and incense, as well as Azi Temple meditation. If you want to participate in the fire offering, you need to make reservations at other temples. This was easily the most luxurious of the places we stayed in on our Japan trip, and it wasn't just because it's the price. (We arrived in the peak autumn season when the colours were at their best.) The rooms were spotlessly clean, and equipped with a toilet, the bath was excellent and the vegetarian meals delicious. The service was friendly and we could check in early. The morning service was conducted in English by the Chief Priest, and being my first formal meditation experience, i liked it as well as the chanting. Explanations are given on an electronic screen. The grounds were beautiful, with a koi fish pond, shrine and deciduous trees. I would stay again, but perhaps, given the prices, choose off peak, or book well in advance.
