If you never try temple stay this is a must.
Cons side u only bath once a day from 4pm to 8pm. With 4 person sharing the same bath tub.
Upside the room given is so luxurious and night dining in room. But as this is temple expect all vegetarian.
The hardware is unique and beautiful! There are two aspects to the software: 1. If you are a true Buddhist, you will feel that the commercial atmosphere is very strong, and the morning and evening classes are irregular. 2. The basic services are not up to standard, such as frozen food. It is disappointing that hot water or water boiling tools are not provided in snowy weather. of!
The hotel has a parking lot, the location is good, 500 meters away from the King Kong Mountain Temple, public bathroom, fine cuisine, morning class at 6:30 in the morning, experience is still very good

This temple stay is amazing. Vegetarian breakfast and dinner was great. The morning prayer and fire ritual was great to take part in. They also offered an afternoon mediation tutorial. There was a night tour for the cemetery, however I did not take part. It was a little concerning that the English tour was ¥1000 yen more than the Japanese tour. Overall I highly recommend this place.
It is said to be the imperial residence of Emperor Toba and Empress. It has a beautiful environment and the hardware is new and clean. The location is good, in the middle, you can walk to major attractions in ten minutes. There is a short uphill walk to get off the bus.
I booked a Japanese-style room with a bathroom. I stayed in a room on the second floor. There was a small entrance hall, a sink, and a small bathroom at the entrance. It's very cold in Mount Koya in winter. With the air conditioner and heating on, the room is very warm.
The breakfast and dinner of Shojin cuisine are very sumptuous. In the morning class, the master will lead the chanting of sutras and incense, as well as Azi Temple meditation. If you want to participate in the fire offering, you need to make reservations at other temples. There are dedicated people who come to the room to take meals and morning classes, and the service is very considerate. I’ll come back next time during the red leaf season.
The location for a spiritual purification journey is excellent. Across the road is Tanshang Jialan, a complex of ancient buildings among thousands of woods, which is very spectacular.
The rooms at Sochiji Temple are very large, with one bedroom, one living room, and a separate bathroom, but the bathroom is a public bathroom with a hot spring. This is their style and a very special experience.
The vegetarian meal is like kaiseki cuisine, with many courses served in order and taking more than an hour to eat.
The service staff are very enthusiastic and nice!
This is the most cost-effective lodging house I have ever stayed in Koyasan. It has a beautiful courtyard, the food tastes great, the service is very thoughtful, the hot springs can wash away the fatigue of the day, and the cost-effectiveness is also very good. I will choose this place again when I come to Koyasan in the future.
Great experience in a temple in the heart of Koyasan. The rules of life within the temple are to be taken into consideration for the traveler tempted by this type of accommodation. In particular, access closes at 9.00 in the evening and no shower possible in the morning or after 21.00.
After booking a room with a bathroom, a monk took us to a semi-underground room. It was so cold. He showed us the shower and bathroom in the corridor. We told him that we paid more to book a room with a bathroom, and he took us to find an old monk. Unless we were mistaken, none of their rooms had a bathroom. I obviously spent hundreds more just to have a bathroom in the room, and it was clearly written on the order. He asked me to contact Ctrip at his expense, and he also contacted the agent. It took about an hour and a half to figure this out. He took us back to the original room and opened the locked door (at first we asked him what the small door was, and he said it was a maintenance room). There was a dirty toilet and a sink that couldn't be smaller. Anyway, there are no hotels on Mount Koya. If you want to stay, it’s a shukubo in the temple. They are expensive and have poor conditions, so think twice.

Outstanding
JJDFCool stay at a monastery in Koyasan! As far as I understand, Shojoshin-in is one of the larger temple lodgings in Koyasan. Our room had an amazing view (koi pond and forest) from the tea room. All our basic needs are met including amenities. They served authentic Japanese vegan meals; I particularly enjoyed the dinner as it had a large variety of small dishes. Keep in mind this is Japanese style lodging, where you have a shared bath with other guests.
GGuest UserFantastic experience in this monastery where you can access meditation ceremonies. The dinner and breakfast served are fantastic.
It is located near the bus stop and a 15 minute walk from Okuno-in cemetery (one of the places of interest in Koya-San).
The rooms are cold but it is normal being in a monastery, the rooms and where you eat are well heated anyway.
