The location for a spiritual purification journey is excellent. Across the road is Tanshang Jialan, a complex of ancient buildings among thousands of woods, which is very spectacular. The rooms at Sochiji Temple are very large, with one bedroom, one living room, and a separate bathroom, but the bathroom is a public bathroom with a hot spring. This is their style and a very special experience. The vegetarian meal is like kaiseki cuisine, with many courses served in order and taking more than an hour to eat. The service staff are very enthusiastic and nice!

The hotel and the rooms are large and comfortable inside, and there are many places to visit. Breakfast and dinner are both super delicious. Be sure to experience the Japanese temple's Shojin cuisine. There are two kinds of hot springs. I think the carbonated spring is cool and very comfortable to wash in. There is access control at 9pm. This temple stay is amazing. Vegetarian breakfast and dinner was great. The morning prayer and fire ritual was great to take part in. They also offered an afternoon mediation tutorial. There was a night tour for the cemetery, however I did not take part. It was a little concerning that the English tour was ¥1000 yen more than the Japanese tour. Overall I highly recommend this place.
