The environment is very good. In the river along the tent room, I saw crocodiles and hippos, which was very shocking. The service is also very good, but the facilities in the room are relatively old and watery.

We have had lovely experiences at this camp which had made it a favorite for us and we were concerned about the report of damage in the Fig Tree facilities. When we arrived, we noted the loss of the lovely entry but the bridge has been replaced with a stronger structure and arches we expect will support a new canopy of vines and plants in the near future. A few tent sites were still under repair around the reinforced bank at the entrance that the flood washed out but the bank itself has been reinforced. A building which served the dining had the walls knocked out but the food service was still excellent and served under a tree canopy. The staff were friendly and welcoming as always. We brought a new team of visitors which were skeptical of the idea of a tent camp but they fell in love with luxurious tents with the attached tiled bathrooms.

Upon arrival, I was a bit skeptical about the five-star ratings and the overall vibe of the place. However, I must say, my initial impressions were completely turned around. The accommodation, while rustic, is nothing short of outstanding. The rooms are incredibly comfortable, providing everything one could need after a long day of safari adventures. Hot showers are a blessing, and the flushing toilets are a welcome convenience. The food deserves a special mention too. Whether it was breakfast, packed safari lunches, or dinners, each meal was amazing. And the staff…They couldn't have been friendlier or more accommodating. We woke up to 4:30am hippo pods jumping into the water and playing. The vervet monkeys are always hanging around and are just adorable. We even had an hartebeest come and sit outside our tent. Overall, our group of 6 had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend it to others when visiting the Masai Mara.

Fig Tree Camp is beautiful! We loved our stay. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Our room was comfortable. We would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room, but they were provided in the bar area. No power or hot water at certain times but this didn’t bother us. We had enough power to charge our cameras and phones so we were happy. The beds were comfortable. The food was great, with a lot of choices to cover likes and food preferences. We had the same waiter for each meal and I wish I could remember his name - he was brilliant! The owner visited each table at dinner to speak to guests and I thought that was a great touch. I loved the outdoor dining and the Maasai dancers who performed each night. We saw a genet right next to our table and our waiter pointed out some bush babies to us too! Being right in the reserve was excellent too. We loved seeing the hippos, crocs, and monkeys in camp. We would definitely stay at Fig Tree Camp again.

We stayed at the Fig Tree Camp in early January as 4 adults.. My wife and I and our Daughters. This was rearranged by our Travel Agent. We had an absolutely Pleasant Experience. 1) Started with the Front Desk Staff.. Wonderful and accommodating. I asked for the Tented Cabins in front of the Hippo Swim area (30% more $), but was given without charge. Kudos for their generosity. Also asked for late checkout, given with no issue. 2) Meals Buffet Style were all delicious with lots of vegetarian options, all tasty. The Dinning staff to include Frederick, were super pleasant. Masai Entertainment Dancers at Dinner were fun. 3) Rooms were simple but very comfortable beds with mosquito netting at night. Our room view was super. Room staff very thorough in cleaning... Need to be aware of Electricity and Hot Water Scheduling.

We were absolutely happy with our stay at Fig Tree Camp. From the beginning before our trip, we emailed the hotel for airport pickup. There is a charge of $55 USD per person for pickup and $55 USD for return. The closest airstrip to Fig Tree Camp is Ol Kiombo Airstrip. We flew with Fly ALS. We were picked up on time and from the minute we were picked up by Jonathan, the adventure began. You are immediately taken on a safari run. The charge to enter the game reserve is $200 USD per person per day. These prices are as of Dec 2024. We were a party of 4, so the charge was $800 per day. Also, every charge is in USD and not Kenya's currency. There is also a $60 per person for each safari run. So, if you have two safari runs in a day, that is $120 USD per person for that day. I am listing these prices because I was not aware of the different charges before I got there and completely caught me off guard. Make sure to budget for these especially if you have a large party, it can get expensive fast. All of these does not include what you pay for room and food. Outside of the unexpected expenses, the stay was wonderful. We were checked in by Mary at the front desk and Sammy. Both were wonderful our entire stay. Always checking in on us to make sure our needs were being met. We stayed in their River front Deluxe / Ngamboli Tent. We had two tents right next to each other. The tents were very clean, with full working bathrooms and toilets. The tent had two beds, one queen size bed and a smaller twin bed. Right outside our tents, there is a river where the hippos and crocodiles swam. Every night you can hear the hippos from your tent. It sounds like they are right outside your tent door. The camp runs on generator so you only get lights at certain times of the day. I believe from 5am - 9am, 1pm - 3pm and 6pm - 9pm. Don't quote me on those times. But, it was not too bad. It did not bother us at all because we had lights at times when we really needed it. Our camp room fee included food (full buffet - breakfast, lunch and dinner). Food was excellent. No complaints about any of our meals or drinks. We only had to pay extra if we wanted alcohol, soft drinks, coffee and tea were included. We had the same server the entire time we were there. Benson was our server and he was very nice, helpful and attentive to details. Big thank you to Benson for all his assistance. Benson quickly realized that our family likes masala chai. When we showed up to eat, he will immediately place an order with the kitchen to prepare masala chai for us, without us asking him to do it. The chef - Paul - was also great. When we wanted a special meal not on the buffet menu, Paul would go out of his way to make the meal for us. We really appreciated that from him. My wife used the spa services on two different times and Melissa from the spa service worked with her both times. Melissa was very friendly, outgoing and patience. My wife was happy with her massages. Thank you Melissa. We went
