Niraamaya Wellness Retreats Backwaters and Beyond Kumarakom

Getting There - 2hrs drive from Kochi airport. The hotel arranged for a transfer taxi. 5,000/- one way. Arrival- Welcomed with chandan tika, welcome drink, cold towel and a big smile by the staff. Room- Got it early then the checkin time. Rooms are big, well lit with good views. But they need a lot of maintenance and refurbishment. Hotel- Green, peaceful, clean. Food & Restaurants - Only 1 restaurant with limited menu. But everything we ordered was delicious and good in portion size.

Both Niramaaya Athirapally and Kumarakom venues were an absolute pleasant stay. I would like to highlight the plesant experience with both the Yoga Instructors Athul Krishnan and Anoop Kumar who conducted a rejuvenating Yoga sessions throughout our stay there. Their extensive experience and warm welcoming presence made both our stay a memorable one. Highly recommended for couples and groups or even individuals who are looking for an experience to unwind and relax yourselves!

We booked a lake view pool villa for our stay for this weekend, we had a great relaxing time with our family after a very very long time. Thanks to the staff who made our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We will surely relish the memory of staying there

Loved the hospitality and the views. We were on our anniversary trip to Kumarakom and stayed at Niraamaaya. They put so much attention to make our stay amazing. From decorating our villa to helping plan a surprise candle light dinner.. would love to come back and would definitely recommend.

Here for a family vacation with my elderly parents to visit my father's home town. We checked in late on the first night. There is about 20 stairs from the front entrance to the check in area. The elevator wasn't working. I told the hotel well ahead of time that my parents have limited mobility. There isn't any assistance to help them out to their room from the dining area and the lobby which is 75 meters away. When we get to the room I see my father crawling up the stairs because there is no railing or anything else to hold on to. I ask the manager if they have any railings or if there is any way to help reduce a fall risk and the manager was quite unhelpful. When we got to dinner where 3 tables were occupied, I ask for something quick to get for my small children. I figure chicken nuggets and pappadam would be the fastest thing. After 45 minutes minutes, I ask the waiter if they are ready yet, another 15 minutes before the nuggets came out. Yes, that's right 60 minutes before frozen fried chicken nuggets were ready. The rest of the theyal, thorin, meen curry and dhal came out another 20 minutes later. It's a shame because the staff are nice and the property is beautiful. I just would expect more basic care for guest needs, especially at this price point.

The stay was nothing but average. The room was perfect no doubt and it was super clean. Even the food quality was nice. However, i have to comment on the f&b service, they just had one restaurant and the service was very slow. It took almost 30 mins for any dish to arrive. Moreover, very few veg options.. and the restaurant staff wasn’t that friendly… plus the spa facility was ok.. shirodhara is not recommended here. Pls don’t go for it. The morning Yoga session at the spa was great tho. Must-do for sure! The hi-tea options are so limited.. even tho its for free they have nothing much to serve. And the timing for hi-tea is just half an hr i mean cumon! They need to improve the services for sure!
