The location is good, almost at the urban center and you can walk to center area and not too far from MRT station, the couple owner is super friendly and helpful. The living room area and other facilities are awesome. FYI: For expat solo traveller, please contact the hostel owner first because the location is a bit difficult to find if you weren't local people and this hostel accept only female. I give 5 stars and highly recommend for female traveller.

Great hostel, one of the best I’ve been to. It was clean, spacious and comfortable. Views were great too since the hostel is at a high level. You can see the sunset!

Simply perfect stay! Can’t describe enough how comfortable and homey it felt. Very clean, with good facilities, spacious common areas and located in a lively area just 10 min walk from to the subway. Bonus - Great view from the window! I extended my stay in Kunming by one day just to rest more in this cozy place. Only girls space makes it very safe and relaxing.

The hostel is very large and clean, with a large public area, many delicious foods around, and convenient transportation. It is a few hundred meters away from the subway station, and across the road is Nanping Pedestrian Street and major shopping malls. Recommended

A very good girls' homestay, with artistic decoration, good lighting, and a full range of daily necessities. The owner is enthusiastic. I couldn't find the entrance, so the owner came to pick me up in person and helped with the suitcases. All the guests were girls, and there was no smell of cigarettes, which was great. Next time I come to Kunming, I must stay at Huaer again.

Stayed for another four nights. Clean and hygienic. Roommates were quiet. The bathroom was large and clean. Free washing machine. Balcony was very convenient for drying clothes. 10 points 10 points. Girls traveling alone should go to this hotel. There is a commercial pedestrian street downstairs. It is ten minutes away from the subway station.
