Overall, our stay is average as the hotel is very dated and desperately needs to be upgraded and change of old-fashioned/stained furniture.
The breakfast is the same every day. Not much variety. The restaurant staff are not helpful and show no interest in their jobs. Definitely need more training.
The only reason that means the hotel proud of in our case is this super attentive, ever friendly, service beyond the heart, assistant lobby manager Ms Gao Jian Qiong.
She greeted us every time we arrived at the hotel with her cheerful smile and was very patient listening to our concerns as we were travelling with our 82-year-old elderly mother who required wheelchairs.
When the unfrienfly counter receptionists were not willing to help us make a local call to the airlines, Ms Gao and her assistant came forward to assist us voluntarily. She even extended her help by following up with the airlines and updated us on our wheelchairs requests status and etc. Her service rendered to us has shown beyond the professionalism in the service industry. She really shows the meaning of service from the heart. Kudos and well done Ms Gao. Our family is very thankful for your help during our stay in Kunming.
