Aya Beach Resort

We were at Aya Beach Resort with a group and had an excellent time. The rooms are clean and comfortable, pool area very nice and refreshing during low tide and the direct beach location is just amazing. The restaurant is amazing, good and delicious food with vegetarian options. We had some special wishes and barman Salim as well as the restaurant manager were very helpful and supportive. They made our experience unique and special. A big thanks as well to the Maasai working there for telling us about their culture, making fire every night and supporting us with luggage etc. We had a wonderful time and look already forward to our next visit!

Did not pay to share my room with snakes. Unfortunately I had a bad experience at Aya beach. On two consecutive nights I had a snake in my room. My neighbours also had a snake in the room also. Very unpleasant experience but after my insistence I was moved to a different room, thankfully not sharing with snakes this time.

Worst hotel I ever been in my life. Fisherman village, nothing to do around and terrible noise all day due to hotel building besides. Impossible to relax as extremelly loud noise all day. Swimming pool very dirty, nothing like on the pictures.

What a bad service provided by your staff. Always speaking in local language after we request something and laughing. So rude, need more training on hospitality and more empathy with your guests. You should clean pool at least once in a while, very dirt and greasy.

RUN AWAY. Me and my wife had the worst time ever in this hotel. After having amazing time in Zanzibar and Kilimanjaro, we saw few amazing photos and reviews about Aya beach and decided to book 4 days there. BIG MISTAKE. In our first day, we were fully charged in checkin and went to a room that was almsoy ready. We put our luggage and employee said that would come back after few minutes to arrange the bed, if we did not mind we could change and go to enjoy the hotel area. Then we went to the swimming pool area ( did not enter as the water was greasy, but the weather was good and we enjoy the sun and view. When we return after 3 hours, my wife’s earings was gone. We went to reception and we spoke to manager Louis, who said that was not possible and my wife must let fall somewhere else. Unbelievable, we requested to speak with cleaner and he said they could offer a drink for our trouble. Of course we decided to check out and requested our refund, we he said that was only possible to be done on Monday, as we were on Sunday and already passed a week and no refund until now. They stole my wife earing and our 4 days money for the room. Such a shame and we really want to report this for people be far away from this kind of people.

One of the worst hotel me and my family have ever been. Nothing for the kids to do, swimming pool dirty and even after our claim, no action was done to clean. North Zanzibar is 100% better to stay with many better hotels.
