The room was very nice and the view was great! The service was also very good, there were Chinese guys in the store, so there was no language problem. The service was considerate!

It is a good location for sightseeing near Cheongsusa Temple. Breakfast was very disappointing for the price. The photo shows the outside view from the room.

It's close to Kiyomizu-dera, so it's easy to get around, and they take care of your luggage. They're very friendly, the facilities are good, and the breakfast is delicious. I recommend it.

I’m an extensive traveler who has traveled to 70+ countries. I grew up in a rural area and have stayed in various hotels. 1 star to 7 star (Burj). This was a large room with mats and pillows made from rice. There is not a toilet in the room but down the hall. The shower is on the bottom floor, you can lock the door for privacy. It just wasn’t for me, I felt like I was back in the dorm without the keg party. However, the service was excellent and the food was good. I think it’s important to know exactly what you maybe getting into. If I were 20 something I would have loved it, but in my mid 40’s I need a toilet where I sleep. Again the staff were excellent and extremely caring and helpful.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at this hotel. Kyoto is beautiful, it is my favorite city in Japan as it has remained identical to how it once was... In short, a blast from the past. The staff is super friendly, the room is large and spacious, we slept in the original Ryokan, the room also had a beautiful view of a temple, they also have all the necessary services. Unfortunately they don't have many rooms available with a shower in the room, but they allow you to go downstairs and enjoy a moment of relaxation whenever you want, even in the sauna. Unlimited fresh water is available at the entrance, breakfast is typical Japanese and therefore savory which includes fish, rice and vegetables. We will definitely be back, thank you, Arigato! 🙏

Higashimaso è un piccolo ed accogliente ryokan nel cuore di kioto in posizione alta a 4 min dal tempio kiumizu dera. Bellissima la stanza con vista sulla pagoda antica. Tutto secondo tradizione, ritiro delle scarpe in ingresso, a disposizione la vestaglia Yukata in camera da indossare per onsen e colazione. Personale simpatico! Cuoco simpaticissimo! Onsen (terme interne) piccolo ma confortevole e separato Maschi e Femmine come sempre. Bagni condivisi ma puliti dotati di ciabattine comuni per l’ingresso. Nella stanza lavandino e poltrone per the o caffè a disposizione. Colazione “assolutamente tradizionale” nel bene e nel male!!! Ahimè ho assaggiato i piccoli pesci secchi. Nel viaggio si deve fare. E’ cultura!! Gentilezza giapponese al top. Consigliato per un esperienza tradizionale e anche per la comoda posizione.
