Hostal Spa Empúries

A lovely hotel in a beautiful calm setting right on the beach. The hotel has a lovely feel with lots of character. The rooms are spacious with a terrace or sea view. Our room had one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in. There is a bar and a lounge area with sofas. The restaurant has a good choice for breakfast and a menu with lots of seafood in the evening. The staff are friendly and efficient. We will definitely return.

We truly adore this wonderful location, Hotel and atmosphere and are regulars, for some time. While all was perfectly fine as to Hotel and room (I am not the greatest fan of the pillows, for me a tick too firm), we were a bit unhappy with the staff at the bar. We felt that as non-Catalan-speaking guests (we are foreigners, making an effort to speak Spanish) we were not given the kindness and friendly attention that we were used to. Maybe the crew was already tired (Sunday evening), so nothing really grave, but clearly notable this time. The other thing I really need to stress, is that we had much better dinners in your lovely restaurant in earlier days. To us the menu was not very exciting, plus the solomilio and the fried fish were clearly below Spanish/ Catalan standards. The (Russian) service was friendly and competent, no complaints here. All in all, we left this time with a bit of sweet and sour taste. BUT No worries, w´ll be back anyways....

It was again a great pleasure to spend a few days in Hostal Spa Empuries. Beside the fact that the view and location are still as magic as before, the service was very kind and professional. Food was excellent. One small detail : if you could avoid the plastic tea bags, and replace them by paper bags or another system. But this is a very small detail among a very positive experience !

A lovely spot by the sea, away from the crush and crash of city life. A place to relax and unwind. The restaurant is acceptable but nothing exceptional. There is however an outdoor cafe that prepares a fascinating array of Greco-roman dishes that vibe well with the historical ruins of empuries that abut the hotel. Cool synergy. The spa was a bit of a disappointments. It is set to be remodeled in Jan 2025 and it was clear that not much had been looked after in the countdown to the re-do. Most upsetting was the fact that it was COLD in the spa on Christmas Day. Big disappointment.

Excellent stay, lovely hotel, fine restaurant, helpful staff, great location. We enjoyed strolling along the boardwalk, watching the sea, visiting the ruins of Empúries — a mere 5 minute walk from the hotel. Sitting outside drinking tea in the evening. A very relaxing short holiday.

AMAZING location and one we will never forget. Reception was was great and room was beyond gorgeous!! so nice. such a treat to stay here. We were blown away by the walking and history near the ocean. Swimming was such a joy. Really Relaxing and we enjoyed immensely
