This is a favorite lodge of ours as we have visited 7-8 times. The cabins are comfortable and well equipped but retain the feel of being in a rain forest. The staff are friendly and helpful, pointing out things to do and where to find the abundance of local wildlife. This is truly a birders paradise. I left my Merlin app open by mistake and recorded over 20 birds in 15 minutes. That's just a normal morning. Highly recommended.

I recently had the chance to experience the lodge for a few days. I must say that it is an absolute amazing place to enjoy nature and get away from my hectic daily routine. The facilities and staff were top notch. I highly recommend it to everyone and a real steal of a deal!

From the moment we arrived at The Lodge & Spa at Pico Bonito, we knew we were in for a special experience. Nestled in the lush rainforest, this eco-lodge offers the perfect blend of luxury, adventure, and tranquility. The cabins are beautifully designed, offering privacy and breathtaking views of the jungle. Waking up to the sound of tropical birds and a flowing river was simply magical. The staff was incredibly welcoming, ensuring that every detail of our stay was perfect. We enjoyed hiking through the rainforest, spotting exotic wildlife (including toucans and howler monkeys!), and relaxing by the pool after a day of adventure. The food was outstanding, featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients that made every meal a delight. For nature lovers, birdwatchers, and anyone looking to escape into paradise, Pico Bonito is a must-visit. We can’t wait to return!

We spent about a week on Roatan and then took the Galaxy Wave ferry from Roatan to La Ceiba. We had arranged ahead of time for the Lodge at Pico Bonito to send a driver to pick us up at the ferry port, which they did. There was a driver waiting there with a sign with our name on it, which was awesome. The drive to the Lodge was uneventful and check-in was easy. A waiter from the restaurant met us at the front desk and we made dinner reservations and put our order in for dinner. The Lodge is quite isolated (which is wonderful) but also makes it so you don't have many food options. Our dinners at the restaurant over the three days we were there were above average. Breakfast was included in our room and was quite good. While we were there, we signed up for a guide (which was free) to take us to the little butterfly pavilion and the serpentarium on the property, which was fun. The same guide also took us on a hike. The Lodge is situated between two rivers and there are hiking trails that take you into the Pico Bonito National Park where you can hike and view the waterfalls and play in the river. We had two little casitas which were a little rustic but cute. We did have the power go out one night and it wasn't restored until late the next day. Our little hut was quite warm to sleep in without any AC for the night the power was off. The pool was really lovely and three of us had massages at the Spa, which were also lovely. We enjoyed the gift shop with its selection of pottery made by locals and purchased a few pieces to take home. Bring bug spray. There are no TVs in the room, of course, but the main lodge has a little tv and a fun game room.
