I'd never been to a spa resort and had NO IDEA what to expect. We stayed two nights in one of the Cottonwood Rooms. Pretty nice rooms, though slightly dated and probably not what you'd call luxurious. They're comfortable enough, but didn't feel like Wow, We're at a Resort! kinda comfortable. Also, amenities are few and far between (The ice maker in our building, for example, was located in a common room that needs a bit of care -- the ice dumps into a fridge where it seems you're expected to fish it out -- in huge chunks -- by hand. Bleagh.) The setting itself is really beautiful, even on a cold winter day, and seeing the steam come off the gigantic soaking tubs in the main area is actually pretty magical. The tubs were hot, towels were well-stocked, and customers were generally all kind and friendly to each other. The place wasn't terribly crowded during our visit, which was a plus, as it also meant the restaurant on-site was never crowded (we had dinner reservations, but when we arrived, the places was empty enough that they never even asked and just seated us immediately). The dining experience is exceptional--quality all around, great food, served quickly. Very nice. The only factor that takes this review down a notch is staffing. While generally kind and competent, they're inflexible about nearly everything. (Wanna checkout an hour late while a member of your party finishes a massage? Nope. Wanna be charged a fee to do so? Happy to accommodate. Nearly every interaction seemed as if things could be easily resolved if we just handed over the credit card.) We also paid for a private soak--and like others here, experienced the cross-armed foot-tapping from staff, who just seemed generally a bit put out by dealing with everyone. We felt like we were in the way. On the plus side, the person in our party who got the massage said it was definitely worth it, and you won't be disappointed by the general atmosphere and location. The bottom line: Would we go back? Probably. However, for the room rate we paid -- even receiving the NM local discount -- it seemed a *tad* steep for a run of the mill room. Next time, we'd probably just consider a day pass instead, rather than staying on site. And we likely wouldn't do a private soak again.

The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed soaking and lounging around the property and also visited the chickens and puppies during our visit. There were some definite downsides, the nature walk being one. It was very unkempt with piles of broken chairs and old equipment littering the grounds. Most dissatisfying was the customer service. We arrived early to soak before our check in and were told multiple times to return the day pass robes or we would be charged. Later when we checked in for our room, in the heat of the day, making the drive around the property ready to relax, we found our room only to discover they did not put us in the room type we had reserved. We went back to the front to have this corrected and were given a different key with no explanation or apology. When we got to our correct room, there was a housekeeper inside still cleaning it. Called the front desk to ask when it would be ready and they stated it should be already then put us on hold for over 10min. When they got back on the line they said “we just called and your room is ready”. Again no apology and even a tone that we were making it up. The room was very nice however the AC didn’t work and privacy blinds were not functional. This was important the next morning when a housekeeper arrived to clean the room prior to checkout and saw us naked. We mentioned that when we checked out, another strange interaction, to which they replied “they were probably just checking if you had left yet.” Why would that make it ok and why wouldn’t they know? We still had to return our ever important robes and wrist bands, our car was registered with them and parked just outside the casita, and it was more than an hour before check out time. We did enjoy our time overall but some small adjustments in how they interact would go a long way.

Our first time at Ojo Santa Fe. Positives: Connor at the restaurant for dinner was welcoming and professional. The massage therapist at the Spa was knowledgeable, kind, and a true professional. Negatives: young woman at registration greeted us with a fake smile. we told her it was our first time as guests, and she quickly and briefly told us where our room was and the amenities. The room itself was run-down, dated and had mold on curtain over door to balcony. All-in-all Ojo Santa Fe is not up to the standards of a high-end resort.

We stayed at Ojo Santa Fe Resort & Spa for two nights in the middle of our 15-day Southwest vacation, intentionally choosing this spot to recharge, and it delivered. Admittedly, we were skeptical as we drove in, unsure if we were headed the right way. But the moment we turned onto the property, any concerns vanished. This place is tranquil, lush, and thoughtfully designed, a true oasis. The grounds are beautifully green and peaceful. Our room had a comfortable bed and a private balcony overlooking open fields, which made morning coffee feel like a retreat in itself. The soaking tubs, both public and private, were phenomenal. They were clean, well-maintained, and deeply relaxing. We also booked massages, which were very nice and added to the overall sense of renewal. The food was very enjoyable, with a variety of well-prepared dishes and great service. We appreciated being just far enough from downtown Santa Fe to avoid the noise while still being close enough to explore when we wanted. If you're looking to unwind, reconnect, or simply pause during a packed trip, this place is a perfect fit.

We chose Ojo Santa Fe for our honeymoon, excited for a peaceful, rejuvenating experience. The soaking tubs provided a tranquil escape, and we loved the charming puppy patch. However, the overall experience was marred by poor customer service. From check-in to the spa and restaurant, the staff seemed unapproachable and uninterested, which was disappointing, especially for such a special trip. The spa had even run out of robes, leaving us feeling that guest comfort was overlooked. The bright spot was the front gate ambassador, who welcomed us warmly and kindly. With more attention to hospitality and service training, Ojo Santa Fe has the potential to offer a truly memorable and welcoming experience.

I went to Ojo to celebrate a monumental birthday. Ojo has a beautiful location. The pools were great, and the waitstaff and checkin attendants were all very helpful. Unfortunately, the $200 I spent on a massage was an absolute waste of money. I’m not sure what the style or type of massage the massage therapist provided was called but it wasn’t like any massage I have ever had before. More poking, pushing and shaking of limbs than I have ever experienced before. There was nothing relaxing about it. It was truly disappointing. I expected so much more.

What a wonderful birthday my husband planned this past week. We experienced a little snafu with our reservations and after a 7 hour drive, we were ready to book another place...HOWEVER Ozzy from housekeeping came to the rescue. Ozzy greeted us in the courtyard and escorted us to a Casita. The Casita was inviting and very comfortable. Ozzy also made reservations for us to dine at the Blue Heron that evening which was so yummy. His smile, kindness and service erased the snafu from our minds. We enjoyed our stay, using the fitness center, hiked, soaked in the baths, swam in the salt water pool, relaxed in the hammocks, had a wonderful breakfast, yummy Santa Fe stacks, watched the puppy play and just enjoyed. Everyone was super friendly!!!! Thank you Ozzy and Ojo.

I stayed overnight at Ojo and found a bed bug in one of the beds. The bug was inside the covers - I trapped it in one of the glasses and kept it on the nightstand for the staff to examine. I called the front desk to let them know about the situation and the man who was on staff that night did not seem alarmed or concerned. I was staying overnight with a friend and we asked if he could move us to a different room. He said the only room he had available was a single bed right next to our current room. We did not feel comfortable staying in the room next door but he insisted that was the only room he had available. After a little prodding, he then said he could move us to another building that has 2-room suites. I'm not sure why this wasn't his immediate initial response - many of those suites were vacant. The maintenance guy who came to help us with the move was very polite however he didn't take a single look at the trapped bed bug in the glass and kept intimating that perhaps it was just a bug from outside. I'm not concerned about insects being indoors - that's inevitable. The bug we captured was a bed bug. I had lightly mentioned the situation to the front desk staff in the morning when checking out. They also seemed unconcerned and gave me the manager’s card - over the course of a week now I’ve left him 2 voicemails and 1 email with NO response. This was the absolute worst hotel stay I’ve ever had, and the worst $360 ever spent. Good luck to anyone who stays here.
