Our first time at Ojo Santa Fe. Positives: Connor at the restaurant for dinner was welcoming and professional. The massage therapist at the Spa was knowledgeable, kind, and a true professional. Negatives: young woman at registration greeted us with a fake smile. we told her it was our first time as guests, and she quickly and briefly told us where our room was and the amenities. The room itself was run-down, dated and had mold on curtain over door to balcony. All-in-all Ojo Santa Fe is not up to the standards of a high-end resort.

We chose Ojo Santa Fe for our honeymoon, excited for a peaceful, rejuvenating experience. The soaking tubs provided a tranquil escape, and we loved the charming puppy patch. However, the overall experience was marred by poor customer service. From check-in to the spa and restaurant, the staff seemed unapproachable and uninterested, which was disappointing, especially for such a special trip. The spa had even run out of robes, leaving us feeling that guest comfort was overlooked. The bright spot was the front gate ambassador, who welcomed us warmly and kindly. With more attention to hospitality and service training, Ojo Santa Fe has the potential to offer a truly memorable and welcoming experience.

My friend and I were originally just going to get day passes here, but decided to book a room because prices were comparable to basic hotels in Santa Fe. With our room booking, we had full access to the resort on check in day and the day we checked out. Parking is included. Although the spa grounds are large, there are actually only a couple of pools. The largest one is the coldest, which makes sense in the New Mexican heat but I’m not sure how popular it is during the winter months. It’s a saltwater pool, and I liked that there were always enough chairs around the pool. Right next to that is a small hot tub. Next to the cafe is a long but small hot pool with one long bench for people to sit and soak. Finally, there is a section with four small round pools, all hot. This is the most aesthetically pleasing area, as three of the four round pools overlook a pond. Meals are not included, but the breakfast tacos at the cafe are amazing. The green chili burger I had at the restaurant for dinner was also very good. We sat in the coop during the chicken feeding, which was nice. The have silkie chickens! We also visited the puppy area. The puppies are very cute, but some definitely nip and bite! We also explored the trails on an early morning hike. The hiking area is simple, although some parts of the trail are not marked well. The room itself had everything we needed, including robes and plastic water bottles to use around the resort. There is no TV, which was fine by us.

We loved Ojo Santa Fe. We live in Albuquerque but have not been here before. the restaurant was great. The manager, Conner, was very attentive, as was Ever (assistant mgr?). Esther was one of the best servers we have ever experienced - so good in fact, that we went back for brunch the next morning to see her : ) Only downside - noise in the rooms, from other rooms and outside.

I'd never been to a spa resort and had NO IDEA what to expect. We stayed two nights in one of the Cottonwood Rooms. Pretty nice rooms, though slightly dated and probably not what you'd call luxurious. They're comfortable enough, but didn't feel like Wow, We're at a Resort! kinda comfortable. Also, amenities are few and far between (The ice maker in our building, for example, was located in a common room that needs a bit of care -- the ice dumps into a fridge where it seems you're expected to fish it out -- in huge chunks -- by hand. Bleagh.) The setting itself is really beautiful, even on a cold winter day, and seeing the steam come off the gigantic soaking tubs in the main area is actually pretty magical. The tubs were hot, towels were well-stocked, and customers were generally all kind and friendly to each other. The place wasn't terribly crowded during our visit, which was a plus, as it also meant the restaurant on-site was never crowded (we had dinner reservations, but when we arrived, the places was empty enough that they never even asked and just seated us immediately). The dining experience is exceptional--quality all around, great food, served quickly. Very nice. The only factor that takes this review down a notch is staffing. While generally kind and competent, they're inflexible about nearly everything. (Wanna checkout an hour late while a member of your party finishes a massage? Nope. Wanna be charged a fee to do so? Happy to accommodate. Nearly every interaction seemed as if things could be easily resolved if we just handed over the credit card.) We also paid for a private soak--and like others here, experienced the cross-armed foot-tapping from staff, who just seemed generally a bit put out by dealing with everyone. We felt like we were in the way. On the plus side, the person in our party who got the massage said it was definitely worth it, and you won't be disappointed by the general atmosphere and location. The bottom line: Would we go back? Probably. However, for the room rate we paid -- even receiving the NM local discount -- it seemed a *tad* steep for a run of the mill room. Next time, we'd probably just consider a day pass instead, rather than staying on site. And we likely wouldn't do a private soak again.

Great experience! Affordable and recommend for a relaxing day. We only did the mineral baths and rented a robe. Lots of people were there when we went but still plenty of room for everyone. All the baths were nice and hot. Guests were respectful and quiet. The only thing I would have like would have been thicker mud. Desk staff is not so friendly or helpful but we managed and really enjoyed the grounds.

This was my second stay at Ojo Santa Fe Spa Resort. It is a beautiful resort! The casita was so nice, spacious, clean and felt luxurious in a rustic way. The Sage restaurant for casual food was really good and the hot springs are so relaxing. Everyone was super friendly and Joseph the manager was very helpful! It was a relaxing and wonderful trip!

I would call Ojo Santa Fe a spa resort only in the loosest sense. What I actually experienced was a mid-tier hotel that offered spa treatments. First the positives…..I had a massage with a wonderful therapist, very accommodating and skilled. I also really enjoyed sitting by the fireplace in my huge king casita. The thermal spas were very warm and lovely. And that's it. Now the negatives…..Ojo isn't located in downtown Santa Fe (25 minutes away) so you feel very isolated - if there were more to do at the resort this wouldn't be a problem, but the options are VERY limited. After I spent 10 minutes petting the puppies and learning about their chickens I was bored. It was cold while I was there and I'm sure there are more places to sit and relax in warm weather, but isn't Santa Fe cold at least half the year? The workout room was a joke (similar to a bad city hotel facility) and with only 1 yoga class offered per day do not expect to "get" or "stay" fit while you are there. The only option for breakfast is a grab and go until 10:00am! Finally, when I tried to check out there wasn't anyone at the registration desk…..I had to wait 30 minutes for someone to arrive. I booked this resort thinking it was one of the premier spa resorts in the country….but having stayed at Canyon Ranch, Miraval and Lake Austin this property doesn't even compare.

We went in really excited about relaxing here as we heard great reviews about this resort. Room Service: When we got there, we were greeted with subpar service as we were checking in to leave our luggage there. They mentioned they would bring our luggage's to our room once it was available. They also told us they ran out of robes for the spa, but we would get robes in our hotel room once available. Nothing was true, we got back to our room after the spa and didn't see our luggage's or the robes. We had to call them to bring our luggage's. As for our robes, since we wanted to soak the next morning, we called to see if we could get robes. They told us to go and pick it up at the check in desk, which was unpleasant. There was still leftover food from previous guests in the fridge as well. Spa Service: When we got to the spa center, the check in line was pretty long which was as expected for the holidays. We were given robes thankfully at the spa, but why were the receptionist at the hotel check in and the receptionist at the spa center not aligned? We then got a really lazy tour of the amenities, having us to guess where things were. We went to the hot springs and it was completely packed! I think majority of them were day pass users but was there no max capacity or limit on how many people they should allow for the day?! It was not relaxing whatsoever. To add to the chaos, one of the pumps apparently broke so they kicked everyone out of one of the springs. Steam room seemed outdated and dirty from people stepping outdoors and into the steamroom stepping on the steps, it wasnt very pleasant but did the job. As for our massages, it was extremely disappointing. Is it a thing in New mexico to have the room as bright as possible? Our masseuse's (both my boyfriend and mines) were very bland. They didn't seem like they wanted to be there, massage was very subpar, at the end of massage, it felt very rushed to get out of the room. I needed to go bathroom and there was NOT enough bathrooms for the amount of people there! The best thing we experienced was being able to be in the hot springs the next day at 830am before the daypass users. Overall, extremely poor "spa resort" experience for the price you pay. Showers did not seem like it was cleaned well and customer service was lacking overall from everyone. Wouldnt recommend this place unless you have low expectations.
