After I posted this review on Google Maps the hotel responded in an attempt to justify taking my $600 and saying that they understand my disappointment, so I’m including a response to that in this review: I booked two rooms for four people for four nights through ******* for June 2025 nine months in advance, but we were not sure yet of the exact nights, so I meant to reserve it and pay when we arrived. However, I mistakenly paid for the rooms when I made the booking. When I tried to change the reservation to a week later and make it for five nights instead of four, I realized the mistake and tried to make the change and pay for an additional night, but because I booked the rooms at the non-refundable rate, they would not change it, even though I would have booked for an additional night. I contacted the hotel directly and they said I had to make the request through *******. I made the request through *******, and the hotel refused it, again, even though I would have spent more money in the end. So, I had to cancel the reservation completely, and of course, I made the final 5-night reservation at another property. That means this hotel is keeping my money and they will be able to give my rooms to another customer and make twice as much money. I guess being greedy can pay off after all. I don’t know if that’s the French way or just this hotel’s way, I come to Paris every couple of years and I definitely will never stay here, nor will my friends. No, you don’t understand my disappointment because it’s not costing you US$600. I’m a disabled U.S. Army veteran, and that’s 1/3 of my monthly income. I know how I booked the reservation. As I said, it was a stupid accident because humans are not perfect. I clicked the wrong button. I tried to correct it through ******* and I was willing to pay extra for the change, but ******* said that you, the property, would not allow the change when they contacted you. This is your way of making twice as much money on the two rooms, and nothing less. There will not be a next time because you already have my money for two rooms for four nights in June that I can’t use. Maybe I’m not smart, but I’m not stupid enough to give you more money. Unfortunately, these are the chances one takes when booking a hotel in another country through the internet. It shouldn’t be this way, but it is.
