La Glacerie Hotels with Wi-Fi

The family room with 4 people is a very beautiful discovery: spacious, functional, beautifully decorated. Children and parents loved it. The formula 1/2 pension allows you to enjoy an excellent breakfast. Small bemol about dinner (served at the hotel Ibis mitoyen) where it was the shock the evening we went there: lack of staff, excessively slow service (not ideal for ”holding” children) misunderstanding the formula, But this did not alter the very good memory of this stage in the Ibis Budget Cherbourg.

This is a budget hotel and was a clean and modern hotel. We were there for one before train down south. Room was comfortable and had all we needed. Bed was comfy as we're the pillows. So a good night sleep. You can pay for a continental breakfast about 10€ each. Just the basic fare, nothing out of ordinary. But was all fresh. Allowed to use the better Ibis hotel next door for dinner and the bar. Not cheap! So we did not have dinner there. Be aware that the hotel is in a trading estate. You do have a McDonald's opposite and a supermarket around the corner with a brilliant bakery. Which had a great salad bar, which we utilised. All in all not a bad stay. Staff were lovely.

Première déception. Ne pouvant pas payer avec une carte de débit (n’ayant pas de carte de crédit), je n’ai pas pu faire la réservation par internet. Jusque là, pas grave, on me dit que je ne bénéficie pas de la remise internet, on prend ma réservation par téléphone et je pourrai payer avec ma carte de banque. Arrivé sur place, il faut passer par un guichet électronique…qui ne prend toujours pas la carte. J’ai donc dut trouver une autre solution pour payer. Chambre 100% non fumeur. Nous ouvrons la porte de la chambre et ça sentait la cigarette… Ma compagne a dû prendre des médicaments pour ne pas en être malade. Même la serviette de bain sentait la cigarette. Et une seule serviette pour deux personnes en plus. Sinon bon emplacement et chambre correcte niveau équipement et taille.
