On arrival we were a couple of hours early for the 5pm check in but they allowed us to check in immediately which was fantastic. The complex is large with different hotels/ apartments all under the same brand. We got vague directions to our apartment which was a short walk from the reception. The apartments are not clearly numbered so it was difficult to find. The apartment was up two flights of steep stairs with no lift so may not be suitable for those with mobility issues as it was challenging getting cases up and down. The apartment was spacious and clean but a little tired. The balcony was good, it had a table, chairs and an adjustable awning. The only thing that would have improved this would have been loungers. The bedroom was supposed to be a twin but it was a double bed. We therefore used the pullout bed from under the couch. There was no kettle or iron but there was a coffee maker, fridge freezer, microwave, an oven and hob and a washing machine. There was also a hairdryer in the bathroom. There was a limited but lovely view of the sea from the bedroom. There were mosquito plugs in living room and bedroom but they did not make much difference. It would be advisable to take mosquito repellent. A key was needed for the safe which you pay a €10 deposit for at reception. There are a few pools around and one was near us and it was nice and quiet with lots of loungers and shade. It is close to the beach, a small supermarket and a few other shops. The promenade at the beach is getting work done and is a mess at present, we were aware of this when we booked but it does worsen the atmosphere. As we were half board we went to the main building for breakfast and dinner. The walk is past the main pool area which was slippery as they washed this every morning at breakfast time. The food was average. There was always a good amount of choice for breakfast but the cooked items were often cool/ cold. Dinner varied but usually something to eat. The dining room could be very busy. The time for dinner is 7.30pm-10pm which is quite late so there was usually a queue formed before it opened. On our last full day staff started working on one of the apartments within our building so there was drilling and banging all day starting early in the morning. The stairs were covered in concrete dust and it was impossible to relax. It would have been helpful for them to postpone this until the block was empty as it detracted from enjoying our last day. Overall I enjoyed my holiday and did not have any major complaints however I do not think I would return at least not until all the building work at the beach is completed.
