I really like this hotel, the location is perfect for the old town, with shops, bars, cafes etc within a few metres walk. The main transport square is only maybe 50m away, with lots of buses and bikes. It’s such a cool vibe inside the hotel, like 70’s style. Very friendly staff, very good value. The breakfast is ok, like a continental selection, nothing hot (apart from boiled eggs) but it’s fine. I’m on the second floor and here is a slight fan type noise all the time, it’s quieter as you go down each floor, but I’ve slept well. The veranda is a little grubby, as is the central outdoor area, but everything else is immaculate. Don’t expect that perfect modern hotel look, the bathroom for example looks “dated” but that’s the point - it’s really clean and looks so cool and homely, not like all the usual modern hotels that have no character. Good selection of books downstairs. I really like the place, originally booked 3 nights but extended that to just over a week which says something. Only marked 3 for Services as there’s not much else other than rooms, a chill out area and the breakfast room, so don’t expect spas/pools etc

The night solution an oil-filled radiator to heat the room...
Plan for parking nearby, additional cost depending on the spaces available. for the same price there is much better to avoid

We had a family room at the top of the hotel. Was extremely hot poorly insulated room. Air temp was 27 0c that day but it was like a sauna in the room. No air con. Had to leave the patio door and window open all night so we could sleep. Btw this patio belongs to the room next door and is blocked by a shabby wooden partition that doesn’t allow for privacy. Unfortunately for us there were smokers in this room and they opened their shutters at 4 am chain smoking on the patio for the rest of the night!! All the smoke went into our room. So disgusting. We were awake for the rest of the night because of it. Decorated in 60s style so retro but requires urgent upgrading as shower falling apart. No deep cleaning takes place in this room. Windows dirty and skirting filthy. In short if you have children avoid at all costs. If you want something cheap and in town this will fit the bill. Such a shame as it’s a beautiful building with such potential. Also recommend that the owner gets rid of the carpet on stairs and landing. It was so smelly. On a plus side the staff were lovely and pleasant.

I chose this hotel for its proximity to the city centre. It’s been over 40 years since I last visited La Rochelle and I will definitely be back!

Nice hotel located in a quiet street just off Place de Verdun. Very convenient to bus to íÌe de Rey and the airport. About 10 mins walk from Vieux Port. Breakfast is available for an additional payment. Hotel does not have a lift.

Hotel is comfortable, but noisy at night but worth a stay as good value and the location is amazing! Would recommend if you’re looking to explore the city and like good food which is close by and parking also easy.

Great location at the heart of La Rochelle. Everything you must see is from a walking distance of this charming hotel. The only thing missing was the silence from the street right in front of the hotel that can be very busy really early in the morning. Regardless of this small inconvenience I would definitely stay there again!

We have backed to Japan with no trouble. Thank you for unforgettable stay from nice breakfast to comfortable bed. We are looking forward to visit France and see you again. Or, if you can, please visit Japan Kobe that is harbor city like La Rochelle. Merci pour tort!
