We have been going to Colonial Bay for many years and have always found Nicolle and Bruce very friendly, helpful and full of knowledge about the area. The rooms are very clean and the beds extremely comfortable. Will continue to visit this wonderful resort for many years to come. Norm Johns

Very relaxing stay my kids loved the lakefront. Cottages had a gas bbq for free. Owners were nice and cool answered phone calls right away, was there right away when you needed something. Paddle boats, canoes and other paddle things was free to use.

Dear Bruce, Thank you immensely for hosting us. Our stay at your place was an absolute delight, and we cherished every moment. The nearby towns of Dwight and Bracebridge were captivating, each offering its own unique charm and beauty. Your guidance on our tour was invaluable and greatly enhanced our experience. Our final stop at Port Carling was particularly memorable. The route itself was breathtaking, with nature's splendor truly taking center stage. The two days we spent in Huntsville were equally wonderful, surrounded by such serene and picturesque landscapes. We are deeply appreciative of your hospitality and the effort you put into making our visit so special. The natural beauty of the area has left a lasting impression on us, and we already find ourselves wishing we could stay there indefinitely. Once again, thank you for being such a gracious host. A truly delightful stay with Bruce and Nicolle at Colonial Bay Cottages and Motel, we would have loved to stay longer! It was such a warm and friendly welcome and a really peaceful spot to land, it felt like coming home somehow. Such generous hosts, we felt privileged to share this gorgeous spot; it was so good to be able to go out on the lake in canoes, kayaks, paddleboard and pedalo and enjoy the calm, clear waters. And equally relaxing to chill in comfy seats with stunning views beside the lake and truly switch off. Thank you so much. A true highlight on our trip and we would love to come back sometime!

A very relaxing, comfortable stay in one of the motel units. The unit was clean and refreshed each day. The large lawn area provided ample space for people to sit on the Muskoka chairs or lounge chairs for a quiet read or to chat with others.There is also a small play area. I did not make use of the canoes, kayaks or paddle boats that are available. I did enjoy the beautiful sunsets.

We had a nice and relaxing vacation here. The proximity to Algonquin Park is decent. We really enjoyed using the paddleboats and canoes. And hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were pretty clean and met our needs.

The photo of the sign says it all.Neglected ,outdated and worn ! I havent stayed in a room like this in 40 years.No air conditioning and we hit the hottest week of summer.The beach is somewhere between minuscule and non existent.It seemed everywhere we looked we were paying maximum and getting minimum.We have been staying in the area for over 30 years so our expectations are realistic. The hosts Bruce and Nicole were friendly and we found everything to be clean.But this whole place needs some serious money put into it to bring it up to todays standards.. With so many great places in the area to choose from for less money please keep looking !This is the worst value for your money in the entire area.

What an absolutely charming experience! From the moment we were met by owners Bruce and Nicolle we knew this would be a special week, and so it proved. We used Colonial Bay as our base for exploring this part of Canada, with all it's beauty. And it seemed that every time we returned to base, there was Bruce out on the property keeping everything looking great and ship shape. Nicolle was always at hand to answer our many questions about the surrounding area. A real treat. Thanks Colonial Bay Cottages!
