I have to give credit to the person on reception when I checked in who greeted me with a smile and was friendly and helpful. I'll definitely be back."

"The store owner discriminated against Chinese people. They arranged a basement for us. There was no elevator and they didn't ask us if we needed help with the luggage. The most important thing was that there was a staircase next to our room. If someone went up and down the stairs, the noise was very loud! The curtains were not light-proof and leaked out from the sides. We could see inside our room from the side of the window. We had to use the kettle and bath towel in the room to wipe the curtains and hold them down, otherwise there would be no privacy! There was no view outside the window, three walls and a staircase."

It is three kilometers away from the center of Windermere. There is only one bus line 6 to get there, but the frequency is very rare, basically every two hours. You can either walk or take a taxi to get in and out. Overall, I am satisfied. It is also a luxury hotel ranked among the top in the Lake District, but it has a strong sense of age.
