Stayed here recently as a couple. The estate is stunning and much bigger than we were expecting.Check in was easy and all staff we encountered were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We ate lunch at the Wainwright pub a 5 minute walk away from the Langdale I would highly recommend the food here. The set up of the hotel was very different to what we were expecting, the rooms are not in a hotel but spread out around the estate , but very much have a hotel feel once you're inside them. The decor is modern and the room was a good size, clean and had everything we needed. We had also paid to use the Brimstone Spa ( extra charge) this was the highlight of our stay. Such a well thought out spa, quieter than other spas we've visited which was lovely. I would definitely visit the Langdale hotel again.

Stayed 2 nights in 104 a signature room. The room was beautiful, comfiest bed, wonderful roll top bath, coffee machine, robes etc, well worth paying for. Really glad we didn’t go for a rooms at Brimstone as you are a walk from the bar and restaurant which would be annoying if there was rain. Breakfast was okay, all buffet and not the best selection and cappuccino out of a machine- even though there is a proper machine. Dinner at Stove was underwhelming both main meals were disappointing and one inedible. 40 minute wait for our wine and therefore to order and then we were asked if we would have our mains straight away after starter as they kitchen wanted to close, we sat down at 830pm. Spa was lovely, it was quite small so I imagine it could get very busy. Overall I would recommend although at the price point of £500 per night with the spa. There is better value for money with much better food.

We saw the hotel advertised on social media, the videos made the hotel look great so we checked out the website which also gave off the same impression. Upon arrival the grounds were clean and tidy but when we checked into our room (£270 a night) it was small and had one small window which looked out onto a dark alleyway. The room was clean but certainly not what we expected for the price and after all the hype on social media. We headed down to what we assumed was a spa with a pool etc but the pool was small, in a dull room, had children jumping in and out (despite signs and staff telling them not to) and the jacuzzi/hot tub was covered with barriers - certainly not the relaxing experience we expected so left after 15 minutes. We headed to the bar/restaurant for an evening meal, this was OK, service was OK.

While the food and cocktails were fantastic in the stove the service was mediocre the staff clearly aren’t happy I witnessed one member of staff told off for engaging with a customer ( the customer asked a civilised question and the staff member simply answered while the onlooking senior shook their head and interrogated them after wards) the atmosphere and layout had a weird vibe. The decor was pleasant ( perhaps that’s where the budget was spent) The “ultimate room” was average at best and cleanliness was below par, with questionable stains on the curtains and the bathroom door frame. A cluster of hair and dust was found under the welcome brochures (a lovely welcome). The view was a car park a shame given the proximity of the lovely surroundings and the high price point. While showering and getting changed to dine out we tried to utilise the TV in the room for some background music but this wasn’t working we called to reception who advised some one was coming but we never saw anyone and after and hour we had to get ready to go out so still don’t know if the TV works or not. There are a lot of building works being undertaken, which ruins any remaining views, some facilities are out of action due to the afore mentioned building works.

Used a voucher for our babymoon. Hotel grounds were lovely. The restaurant and bar area was nice. We eat in the hotel on the first night and the food was lovely. Beds are really big and rooms are kept to a high standard. Love the area for muddy boots to experience the lakes and not bring mud into the room. Used the hotel swimming pool and only a short walk to the local pub wainwrights which had a great selection of drinks and all food looked great.

I probably should have done more homework but I didn’t expect the Langdale to be what it was, I don’t mean it in a negative way but the way I described it was a very upmarket centre parcs. The setting is spectacular and the place is good but I thought we would be staying in a hotel in the traditional way. The check in was in a building at the entrance and we were directed to a building with rooms that although perfectly nice inside and spotless was just like any other hotel room. The restaurant was in another building so we had to dodge the rain to get there. Staff at the restaurant were very nice but so many meals went to the wrong tables leaving the waitress wandering around looking for the right table. Breakfast was a buffet style and really good, apart from waiting for someone to arrive to cook the eggs meaning my other items were getting cool. I don’t want anyone to see this as a bad review but it was more money than I would normally spend, and it wasn’t the experience I was expecting. I personally don’t think I would stay again but many people do.

An very poor experience. Lady who welcomed us was atrocious considering at that moment we were expecting something really special considering the cost and website. How wrong were we. Room was no better than a reasonable Holiday Inn Express. Shower was over the bath. Room looked onto their delivery yard which we had to tolerate noise and banging to around midnight each night. Staff were generally uninterested, bar service was dreadful. Breakfast were OK but many hotels i use through work are way superior and 40% of the cost. Over priced, overrated, and they have a lot to learn on customer service. Genuinely wouldn't go again even if i was given a free stay. When we left i handed in my room passes and all i got was "oh thanks" No "Thank you very much, did you have a good stay, was everything ok. " Nothing. Just so poor.

This was amazing. We had a waterside room which was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, amazing views. Unfortunately the weather was not great so didn’t get to sit on the balcony. Very good gym. Nice pool but lots of noise (not from children) but from builders doing renovations on the swimming pool roof and surrounding areas which we were not told about when we booked. Lots cold water drips whilst swimming. Staff all lovely. Breakfast spread lovely. Would have been nice to have additional fruit choice such as berries. And maybe consider Greek yoghurts. Staff willingly provided us with some box games when we asked. They were in fact brand new and we played them a couple of nights. We saw other couples playing using them as well. Good idea. Walks around the area were great and very helpful maps were provided to us from the hotel. Would definitely return. And hopefully have better weather.
