This must once have been the toast of town but its quite dated now, cheap dark oak veneer furniture and flooring. Most of the staff were obliging though.
They seem to have local clientele and conference offerings, so us foreigners felt like s distant afterthought. I also sensed a passive aggression against Chinese speakers.
There are easily better locations but I arrived late and had little choice being last minute, I've learned my lesson. Good luck.

The price/performance ratio of this hotel is pretty good. It’s just that the hotel has a karaoke bar which is quite noisy, but the sound seems to have subsided around 11 o’clock.

The taxi fare from Lao Cai Port is about 40K dong (12 yuan). The room is quite large. If you live on the 6th to 8th floors, you can see part of the street view of Lao Cai, including: Ga Lao Cai (train station), but the train station is no longer there at all. It’s lively, a bit like market towns in third- and fourth-tier cities in China. The hotel is very clean, similar to domestic chain stores, and is a three-star hotel. However, they check in after 14:00. If you check in early, you need to pay an additional 340K dong (100 yuan Rmb), and the original room rate is about 230. The scenery outside the hotel is not bad. There is a bay window to sit by and have a cup of coffee. It is quite comfortable (send a picture). Xiao Du (Ms.) at the hotel front desk can speak Chinese and there is no problem with basic communication. The owner (lady) of the small coffee shop on the right side of the hotel's main entrance is very kind and speaks good Chinese.
