Hotel LIVVO Fataga

We could not fault anything at the Hotel. All staff very helpful. Breakfast had everything on offer. The staff in the Breakfast area was amazing. Good area with beach 10 minutes walk either side........ ................................

We chose this hotel for its central location - a couple of minutes walk from Plaza de España and El Corte Ingles, and the availability of breakfast - which was very good, with all the hot and cold choices anyone could need. An added bonus was that the breakfast room was not noisy, so we could have a conversation over breakfast! The beds were very comfortable and the shower was good. Again, very peaceful - we didn’t hear any noise from any other rooms or the corridor. There were also effective blackout curtains. When we first checked in our safe didn’t work but we reported it and it was fixed the next day. I had mistakenly thought we should have been provided with slippers in the room. I was wrong, it was only for the junior suites, but they kindly provided us with them anyway. One negative point was rather poor Wi-Fi. Web pages very slow to load and often my iPad couldn’t connect at all. Also, a minor niggle - the aircon control panel was almost incomprehensible - tiny switches and displays, the display only stayed on for a second at a time, not at all intuitive and no instructions provided. But once we got it going it worked fine. We would return if in Las Palmas again.

The hotel itself is fine, very clean, comfortable beds, nice staff, good breakfast etc, the roof terrace was a let down, only 4 sun loungers and the jacuzzi and sauna weren’t working, the sister hotel Livvo Lumm would be a preferred choice if I was to return however Las Palmas is dire, grotty overcrowded beach with restaurants that have seen better days, dog dirt on the street etc etc the only good thing is the old town, bus 17 takes you straight there just a few yards from the hotel.

Unfortunately this hotel did not live up to expectations, given it is meant to be 5*. 1) They said they arranged airport transfers, contacted them by email to ask about transfers and buses but no reply, so got a very expensive taxi €47!! They should have a link on their website “how to get here”. 2) Check in 2pm but couldn’t get in my room until after 3.30pm 3) WiFi intermittent, it works but not consistent, not god enough if working. 4) No tea and coffee in a standard room. 5) Shower head kept falling down shower rail as support broken. 6) Shower tray felt very cheap, like it would snap at any point, lots of movement in it. 7) Hot water pressure and temperature intermittent. 8) Thin walls so can hear people chatting next door, bring ear plugs to sleep! 9) Only one lift working so lots of waiting around, used stairs in the end to 5th floor as was quicker. 10) Good breakfast though, good variety of things! 11) Clean rooms and nice comfy bed 12) But lots of patch up work done on maintenance things in room, so made it look a bit shabby / cheap. But looks good from afar. 13) Roof terrace only had 5 sun loungers so needed to use cushions from chairs to lie down. Not much room on the terrace either. 14) Loungers needed to be replaced, very well worn and head rests not sturdy (just fell down). 15) Jacuzzi and sauna not working. I think there are better hotels for your money.
