Launceston Hotels with Bars

Best Western Launceston is a basic, but clean, safe, comfortable well-priced hotel in the centre of Launceston. It's well positioned for the Botanic Gardens and monkey enclosure, right in the centre of the city, and not too far from the river. The room had everything you'd need, or expect, for this price. But what raised the place for me was the service. On a badly delayed flight I didn't arrive until after midnight, but the night manger appeared swiftly, helped me check in, and never once complained about being dragged to the front desk in the middle of the night.

We stayed here in September 2022 and just loved our visit. The hotel was exceptionally vibrant, clean, modern, well located and had brilliant service. The rooms are very comfortable with big areas around beds with room to move and put belongings and the bathrooms were very clean and modern. The staff were always helpful and friendly and the hotel was very well located within easy walking distance of downtown areas. We especially loved the beautiful foyer area and accessible bar and restaurant areas. Would definitely recommend.

It is a motel type. I booked a hotel randomly because I had to fly out the next morning. The hotel is relatively old and has few facilities, but it has a basic refrigerator and hair dryer. The location is in the center of the city. There are many coffee shops and restaurants around. It is less than 20 minutes' drive from the airport, so it is very convenient for traveling and eating. As a transit hotel, it can meet the needs. We booked a quadruple room because of the large number of people. The room is large enough and suitable for families traveling with children.

2 night stay - Location just out of the CBD. Multiple cafes / restaurants around the area if not wishing to eat at the hotel. Appreciated free parking close to entrance of hotel. Large room on the 2nd floor, and spacious bathroom. Very clean. Had delicious breakfast for both days (bacon & eggs, and eggs benedict - both which come with a coffee or juice) - staff in the restaurant are superb, very friendly and professional. I cannot remember our server's name but started with a 'K'. Our room had a small balcony, but didn't sit out there due to the cooler weather of late April. Two small maintenance issues (TV remote and blind chain) were advised shortly after check in and again when we left - our stay was over the weekend.

We arrived at the Leisure Inn Penny Royal Hotel and Appartments and was welcomed so warmly by the lady in reception. She was friendly, courteous and so warm in her dealings with us. Our room was ready even though we arrived an hour early. The building is charming , full of character. Our room was old but spotless and full of charm. Just beautiful. The only downside is we are only spending 1 night here and would definitely stay again.

The location of the hotel is very ideal, the environment is quiet but because it is close to the coastal pier, it is also unique and lively, not to mention the beautiful scenery! The person in charge of the front desk, Miss Jade, deserves a lot of praise. In addition to her warm and friendly attitude, she only rented two rooms when she found out that we were traveling as a family, so she upgraded our room to a connecting suite! Let us live together and communicate and take care of each other easily! The room is certainly neat and well-equipped! In addition, knowing that we were driving to the hotel, they specially arranged a parking space for us, which was really considerate! You feel right at home!

This was the best place I stayed in Tasmania and was close to the Gorge and city centre. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and a toaster and kettle were provided. There was even a free drink at the restaurant downstairs!

This is an older motel that has been renovated and now calls itself a hotel. Launceston is very hilly with some hills quite steep. This hotel was towards the top of one of these steep hills. There are three wings with carparking inbetween each wing. The wing closest to the road has two levels. There is a lift between these levels but the other wings are higher than the top level of the front wing. So if you miss out on a parking spot and have to park on the road you could have to lug your luggage up the road, up a handful of steps to reception, into the lift then out of that front wing up more steps to a room in the rear wing. The driveway up from the road to parking in front of the rear wing is seriously steep. We were on the top level of the front wing nearest the roundabout. Didn't hear much road noise. The room was not decorated to my tastes. Large format concrete-look tiles on the floor and walls of the bathroom with a feature wall of glossy black tiles. There was a large step up to raised shower recess. Here there was a dip down to the water outlet. Not good for those with mobility and balance issues. King double bed was a bit soft for my liking. Silly hanging section in wardrobe. Rail ran front to back making it difficult to get coats and so on in and out. The lovely park over the road and close proximity to city centre are saving graces. Would I stay here again? Probably not.

The rooms are large, all of them are suites, there is the hotel's own restaurant downstairs, connected to the parking garage, a parking fee of $ 8 a day, the location is in the urban area, the city itself is not large, basically can be walked, it is recommended to stay

As a solo traveller just spending one night in Launceston, The Star Hotel was the ideal choice. It is centrally located and street parking was easy to find and free between 17.30 and 09.00 next day. The room itself was compact but comfortable with an ensuite. The friendly, efficient female staff member was able to help with local advice and when I decided to have dinner later, the food and service were exceptional. Three see a couple of stair cases to negotiate but really no trouble. This place was a highlight of my travel in Tasmania.
