The Ponds at Foxhollow

The resort was clean and well maintained. The surrounding area had many things to do. My daughters and I had a great time and would definitely go again.

Parlor was small. Couches were not comfortable. Large space otherwise. Office closes too early and so does pool. We had trouble figuring out the TV. We didn't find any instructions. Bed was comfortable. Gentleman the next morning was fine. There are not enough signs to find check-in. They need to add signs and lights to them. We had to ask someone where it was. Otherwise, we were satisfied overall.

The location and setting are very nice. The two bedroom unit we had is large, clean, comfortable. Unfortunately, maintenence does not seem to be a priority. There is a casement window which would not close completely, and the handle for the window was not attached, and could not be re-attached without tools. There is a door leading out to a deck, which has a very pretty view overlooking a pond and stream. That door also would not close completely regardless of what we tried to do. This was in October with temperatures dropping to the upper 30s at night, so this was an inconvenience, although not a safety issue, not being able to completely shut the window and door. We really had no other complaints, and enjoyed our stay here.

The Ponds at Fox Hollow was and easy ride away from Lee, Pittsfield, Great Barrington, Stockbridge, Adans and North Adams to name a few interesting towns. There was a plethora of restaurants close by as well as ice cream venues. The accommodations were spacious and comfortable and set in a bucolic area with spacious lawns and frequent ponds.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The front desk staff, especially Jay, the manager, are just fantastic. When we checked in, we told Jay that we were interested in hiking in the area, and he made a full list for us that we ticked off as the week went on. He is just an incredible wealth of information about the area. We enjoyed some great hikes all week (Monument Mountain, Mount Greylock, Cobble Trail, Olivia's Overlook, Bash Bish Falls, Mount Frissell). We also spent a lot of time in the pool (after the hikes) and the tennis courts. We even took the canoe out a couple of times around the property's ponds. You have to haul it down into the water yourself but we were able to do that easily. The property is next door to Edith Wharton's The Mount, so we toured there and then went back several times in the evening to walk the grounds and little trails there. Up the road is High Lawn Farm, which is prefect for ice cream and cheese. The resort itself is not fancy, but we're not fancy people. It's perfect for families. The kitchen has everything you need (there's a Big Y nearby for groceries). The units are super clean. There's a free washer and dryer in each building that is shared by only four units. Grills right next to each building (though they could use more regular scrubbing--bring your own foil.) We will back!

The Ponds at Foxhollow was a great place to stay. The view out the window is magical because the ponds, islands and footbridges are beautiful. Add ice and snow and one is transported to another place. The units are very comfortable and spacious. Wish we weren’t so busy with family and could have spent more time just relaxing there
