We have just returned from a long weekend in Yorkshire staying at The Harewood Arms Hotel. We had a really great time staying there, with our hosts Karl and Harry being very welcoming, generous and attentive to all our needs. The rooms were clean and very comfortable and we had a lovely view from the window. The food they served was great, a choice of breakfast and a nice varied menu for dinner. We fully approve of the rule of “no tech” in the bar and restaurant. It was a pleasure not to disturbed by other people shouting down their phones whilst we were relaxing. We were invited to join in the Friday night village quiz we which was great fun. We would highly recommend the Hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area especially as there are so many lovely places to visit close by. We would not hesitate to stay with Karl and Harry again…if they would have us.

We have stayed at the hotel many times as we have family in Alwoodley. The new management (Luke & Karl) cannot do enough to help guests. Tea & coffee were already on the table when we arrived for breakfast. We will be staying there again. The no technology bar is a great idea as my wife & I played cards every night and encourages old fashion conversation. Definitely recommend it.

The new landlords are incredibly friendly and attentive, with an excellent eye for detail. I stayed overnight while visiting family with friends, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The room was spotless and extremely comfortable—one of the best night’s stays I’ve had in a long time. The food was outstanding, and I sincerely wish the new owners the very best of luck with their new venture. Da iawn, diolch!

£5 non refundable car park charge. When I questioned this with a member of staff I was told it’s because visitors use the carpark but don’t enter the pub. There must be a way to refund the charge if drinks/meals are purchased. I shan’t be revisiting. Oh, the place was unsurprisingly practically empty.

the new manager was very kind, breakfast lovely, BUT several issues in room probably faults from previous management probably SMITHS bRewery;- no chair, large safety light on all night in bedroom, bedframe timber corner caught and bruised one, , nowhere to relax like a normal hotel except the bar, and no ganmes in there, no rubber mat for bath, part of sticking root near entrance to separate rooms, can trip people and did me and had scrapped elbow, no tv in room, toilet seat did not fit, stall in bedroom had unsafe wonky leg. light fitting full of flies. No decent reading light.

I called in to check out the place before going with a friend on her 90th birthday - for a meal rather than a hotel stay. She had heard positive reviews from another friend and wanted somewhere 'special' for Sunday lunch on her big day. I have lived in West / North Yorkshire for the majority of my identity but never been to the Harewood Arms and was rather surprised to find that it's a Sam Smiths place. Although it looked perfectly OK, with the best will in the world, it wouldn't be considered 'special'. I may take her for a trial run so she can make her own mind up!

Had a wonderful 2 night stay at this hotel. Bedroom was beautifully decorated, clean and warm. Beds comfy and duvets nice and snuggly. Bar area is no tech, which isn't a problem if you like talking to the people you've gone with!! The food was tasty and ample. Plenty of choice at breakfast, cereals, yoghurt, fruit, toast and jam and a cooked breakfast that you order the day before. The management, well what can you say apart from just fabulous. They've only been there 2 months and are passionate about making it better than some of the reviews suggest. They are super friendly, even inviting us to the monthly quiz and to join their team, and willingness to do what it takes....definitely going the extra make to make your stay wonderful. Will definitely return.

Arrived at the Harewood Arms lovely cosy pub.We were given the key to our room. Room lovely and warm and spotlessly clean. Tea coffee making facilities. Lovely clean towels and heated towel rail which was lovely. We then went to the bar a few local people in really friendly. We had food which was lovely hot and of ample size. Jolene and her husband are running the pub and have only been there a couple of months and have lots of excellent ideas and they are both really friendly. We had breakfast and not sure where the negative comments have come from breakfast was ample you picked your cooked breakfast the night before. It was all fresh and hot and plenty of it. There was bread jams to make toast etc. There was also cereals yoghurts and fruit and as much tea and coffee as you wanted and nothing was to much trouble for them. Would highly recommend and Amy who was on the bar last night was lovely and chatty.
