Leesburg Colonial Inn

A wonderful little inn located right on King Street. Building is historic so the rooms are small, but they are clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and the stay was a delight. A tasty breakfast was included. I'm not sure if an elevator is available, so double check with the property if you have mobility issues as the 10 rooms are located on the 2nd floor. Recommened!

We booked a room and checked into the George Washington room # 6. This was Saturday, November 9, 2024. The room was dated but clean. The hotel is centrally located. The room rate was $210. However, it was impossible to sleep, as a full live band including a drum set was playing just below in the hotel's pub until almost 2 am. Clearly, this room cannot be rented out on a night where a band plays directly underneath the room. We contacted the hotel several times to ask for a comment and a refund but have not received any reply. If you must stay at this hotel, make sure you ask about activities and events at the hotel's pub. Otherwise you might end up sleeping in your car. My recommendation is to find alternate accommodations as the room rate was not a bargain.

This stay was almost exactly like my experience in York, UK. You go in through the street entrance to the cafe and check in with the friendly & accommodating staff at a desk at the back, get your traditional keys (no keycard here), go up the creaky stairs to the (10) rooms above the restaurant. The simple, average size rooms are furnished sparsely with antiques -- except the TV & the USB charging plugs! The bathrooms have all of the usual including toiletries. It is located in adorable Leesburg with many (awesome) restaurants and shops nearby. The service was great! If you pay the normal rate a welcome drink and free made to order breakfast are both included!

This place has so much charm - it's truly like a colonial inn, with the tavern and bar tied to the inn. We arrived after 9pm on a Saturday and were immediately greeted by two employees who helped us check-in. Our reservation was supposed to include champagne and cheese, which I didn't see in the room, so I went downstairs and was immediately helped by an employee again. They had the complimentary snack to our room in about 15 minutes. Our room is exactly what you would expect of a colonial inn - small, but sufficient; clean and comfortable. Everything was a bit old, but the water, heat, and electricity all worked perfectly, so no complaints at all. The location alone makes it worth it. We walked out from the inn at about 9:40 and were greeted with a slew of options. As Chicagoans, we're used to a walkable nightlife, and this part of Leesburg exceeded our expectations. Amazing cocktails directly across the street, a fun taste everything beer bar on the corner, and another half dozen we could see on that block alone. We slept perfectly well. No noise issues. The mattress could use an update, but it didn't dampen our experience. When we went downstairs for our complimentary breakfast, we were immediately greeted and served. The free breakfast was quality.

Please be warned - We made a reservation online thru Priceline for two rooms to stay in after a bike ride. When we checked in I told lady at the front desk we had reservations thru Priceline and she found them. We were told to pay for each room on our charge cards. I said Priceline had charged my card already and she told me that Priceline would reverse the charge and we had to pay the hotel. I would see the reversal in approximately 3 days time. So we gave our credit cards and were charged by Colonial Inn. Also we were told breakfast was included. The next day we had breakfast and when given the bill we were told it was included and the waitress was tipped on the total. When I received my credit card bill I saw a charge from Priceline for total amount of our two rooms and also charges for my room from Colonial Inn. Also charged on my card was a charge of $52.00 for both of our breakfasts which was supposed to be included in the B&B hotel rate according to our check in and our waitress that morning. Problem: - Priceline did not reverse charges as stated by lady at Colonial Inn -Charged again by Colonial Inn for two rooms -Breakfast was put on my credit card after being told it was included (not sure how this was done since I did not sign a check?). Will be informing credit card company of this and asking how a charge was put thru I called and spoke to the lady at the front desk today and she said she could not help me as she did not know anything about how the charges were made and she would have the owner call this evening. I just got off the phone with the owner (who did not call me as promised, I had to call back again) who told me that it was my problem to resolve with Priceline and that breakfast was not in fact included even though we were told it was by two different employees, one at the front desk and the actual waitress that waited on us for breakfast. This is a very shady and shoddy way to do business and I am very disappointed in this experience and will be contacting my credit card company to report this and the BBBB. Warning to anyone making future reservations at this establishment.

Great food, environment & buildings. Bed felt old but comfortable. I was on street side & my cousin on the other side of building. She heard garbage truck in morning but nothing else. I heard at 12 am to 2:40 am loud cars & honking. It sounded like a race car track. At 6 am garbage truck picking up like the whole street’s garage lined up outside my window just across the street. Sad but I think that the Inn is loosing business because of that.
