If you really don’t mind where you stay; if your desire for taste - in decor and food - is in the ‘take it or leave it’ category, then one night here is probably not going to cause your sensibilities too much disturbance. But… it’s another one of those hotels that use their space to the best of their advantage. Ie not much for you! Room are very small and equipped with the minimum of mod-cons though the bed was not uncomfortable! And there was hot and cold running water. Breakfast was very cramped and they had managed to remove the taste from the food (fruit especially). But one short night is acceptable - particularly as your eyes are closed for most of the time… .

This is my second Motel One and I did not think it was possible to have a room more spartan or smaller than in Berlin Mitte..but I was wrong. As a single I have 1 towel, 1 set of pillows, 1 duvet, no washcloth (none in Berlin either). There are no nightstand, just a shelf that you would use for stacking clothes if you unpack. 3 hangers. When you book, they ask if you are single or double. This is why. My companion is with her husband and paid more for a double. Higher floor and 2 of each. On the flip side, it is in a great location. I had to close the window because of the church bells and street noises. You have a lively bar and breakfast while very expensive at $13.50 is great. You could skip it and walk up the block to several bakeries. Avoid a car if possible. The lot is extremely tight. $15 per day. So while cheap and clean, the other costs add up. You have the bare minimum but with great common areas. If you do have a car, turn left into an open lot…before you get to the street that is the motel one parking garage. Same price, but easier to manage.

It doesn't get more central than this. If you're happy with the Motel One standard, this hotel is highly recommended. Clean, well organized, relatively new and located right in the center. Perfect! The staff was very friendly. It's just a shame that the parking garage wasn't usable.

Hotel located right in the city center, rooms at the back with a small view of the Zwinger. Rooms well furnished, bathroom with walk-in shower. Good selection at the breakfast buffet, underground parking available. Entrance area and bar area very modern (nicely) furnished. Very friendly service.

The rooms are as they are in a motel. No palaces, clean and equipped with everything. USB sockets in the wall, WiFi works perfectly. There are also elevators. The breakfast is amazing.
