We didn’t expect the earth for the price two of us paid for a four night stay here, but the photos looked good, there was a bunch of good reviews, and we didn’t want anything fancy anyway. So we thought Hikmat Indah would be a good pick. It was obvious when we arrived that the photos were probably 20 years old. The room and bathroom were pretty depressing and didn’t feel clean. Bathroom mat was gross. There was an awful chemical smell that quickly gave us a headache. No top sheet on the bed. Just a blanket. I doubt very much it was freshly washed for us! The balcony was basically a small square with a chair half looking out on the world’s noisiest road. The sound of screaming motorbikes was bad at 5pm. It was even worse at 2am. The din calmed down between 3-4.30am but the walls of room were so thin that the traffic noise was just replaced by the noise of people snoring in the neighbouring room. We checked out next day without a refund for the other 3 nights, but if the place isn’t clean, has a smell that gives you a headache and is so noisy you can’t sleep, there was no point in staying.
