Very clean and the best shower I have had in a long time. This hotel is in transition, so if you need everything to be the best and perfect, don't stay here. But the location is terrific and the rooms are clean. I would stay here again. We had a corner room which overlooked Lerwick Harbor from one window and Bains Beach from the other. We listened to the waves as we fell asleep. The staff was friendly. Over time, I expect more work will be done. Eventually, the restaurant will open. But for today? We had everything we needed. Yes, I will stay again!!

I had a short stay in the queens in lerwick. I honestly couldn't get better customer service. To name drop. Sam. Absolute star, all that I could ask for, recommendations on local pubs, food and locations. Couldn't have more positive compliments for this man. Top notch. So friendly and welcoming, as soon as I arrived he was passing the hallway and suddenly stopped and welcomed me in.

Nice enough hotel had a ample room overlooking a small bay. Hotel was very quiet not many other guests due to time off year, sone restoration works ongoing at time. Quaint way off checking in, you had to phone for receptionist to come by and check you in, but it works.

The place is filty, moldy, with pigeons in the loft, wallpaper peeling, woodlice everywhere including in the bed and the electric equipment not checked since 2014. Room dirty and not cleaned. There is certainly a health and safety issue here. It should be closed by the authorities. No staff, present, no bar, no kitchen and no reply to emails. And all of this £125/night for room only!

I am here for work, they are paying £174.00 per night. It’s very dated, the reception isn’t manned, you have to phone to get service and the kitchen isn’t operational. So no breakfast and no alternative offered ( like a bag with fruit and rolls). The room- broken toilet seat, the shower is very weak and the windows are rotting with damp. It’s a shame as the location is beautiful, right on the sea front. I’ve been many times to Shetland and the would give a terrible representation of the island for first time visitors.

The advertisement did not advise that the hotel is in need of major remedial work and not fit for purpose. No facilities open for drinks or food. At £183 per night I would expect at least 4 star; this hotel does not merit any stars. Ceilings are falling down, carpets threadbare, wallpaper peeling off, dampness everywhere. Arriving into the hotel reception makes you want to leave straight away, its also unmanned. I did try to book elsewhere but no other hotels had availability. My room had a view of the harbour and was acceptable but 2 of my colleagues were in single rooms and honestly totally unacceptable and the stench of dampness was awful. This hotel has seriously been neglected and in urgent need of investment to upgrade to a habitable standard. It is NOT worth the prices being charged and should close until remedial work is done!!!

The hotel is in a perfect location, close to everything, plenty of free parking nearby for your rental car. Unfortunately, it's an old building undergoing extensive renovations, in asnd out, and that's not clear when you book. No food service but that didn't bother us... The walls in all common areas and our room had peeling paint, a pervasive musty-mold smell throughout, no hot water for showers. Full disclosure, a family member inadvertently booked an extra night and when we realized our error we immediately phoned Harvey, the owner, to see if he'd adjust our booking. Yes, the site says no refunds but in small business you build business with relationships and customer service...I felt it was appropriate to ask. Harvey was kind in May 2023 when we booked this stay and told me emphatecially that he'd take care of this but when I called, and called and sent numerous emails he completely ignored my outreach. Even once we arrived for check-in he promised to adjust ther bill and once we left Lerwick he ignored my outreach still. Perhaps the hotel can be restored to its original warmth but ownership doesn't support the customer. Totally unfortunate.

A difficult one to review. It's in a great location. The hotel has substantial exterior renovations going on, and being fair it did say that the bar and restaurant were closed. First impressions left us feeling worried though, and there is evidence of damp throughout the hotel, wallpaper peeling etc.. Our room was ok, faded but clean. View to the sea. Clean beds and towels. But it was 'ok' in a way that this was not a room you wanted to spend any extra time in. We paid nearly double for one night here as we had spent the night before and it wasn't justified. I wish them well with the renovation and hope that they are able to bring it back to a great standard.

I truly like this hotel. Granted, it needs some cosmetic updates, but the bones of my room were very satisfactory. The room was clean and comfortable, the bed the right degree of firmness, the heater was very efficient, and there was excellent hot water for both bath and shower. The wifi was also excellent. The staff were friendly and on premises. My room overlooked Banes Beach and I got to see and har people bathing every day (!). The location was extremely convenient to shops, cafes, take aways, chippies, and the small grocery in the center of Lerwick. The community center and museums were within convenient walking distance. If I return to Lerwick, I will stay here again.
